My guess is that the barrage of attacks and accusations that I’m mansplaining about a woman’s right to kill her own child to advance her career and compete equally with men in the workplace will ensue. This was, after all, Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s way of supporting the regime of abortion on demand.
Just to note – When one is retired and not beholden to toe the Leftist or Woke line so prevalent in corporate America, it does make it easier to speak one’s mind.

Abortion is the most important thing ever because what makes men and women fundamentally different is that women can have babies. Men get in engage in sex and walk away and it is not so with ladies. Because the left worships equality, they believe that abortion can make men and women equal.

LOL. Sudden flashback. It’s about 1960 and I’m five or six, with chicken pox. Mum and Dad are off for a weekend at Kensington Palace with His and Her Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Granny has come to stay to take care of me.
Most vivid memory of that time: Every morning, my little fingers and weak arms struggled to pull up the zipper (reinforced with a shoelace through the hole on the tab, so there was something to grab hold of) on granny’s girdle, a fearsome, whale-boned, garment which went from just below her butt to just under her boobs. Those were strapped into an equally scary and constrictive brassiere with, on the back, about a dozen hooks and eyes, and, on the front, protuberances reminiscent of those on the bumper of our 1955 Ford Fairlane.
I can only suppose that I was subbing for Grandpa in the morning exercise. Poor guy. And poor Granny, wearing those every day of her life.
It’s a source of ongoing amazement to me that, given the choice (and this is a “choice” I welcome and exercise), any woman would stuff herself into such things, and even more so that in this day and age, companies like Spanx are celebrated–mostly by women, of all people.

While typing this up, I noticed that word order, grammar, and punctuation are largely irrelevant in conveying the message in Ms. Blakely’s statement, while they matter more in Brian’s response:

Your argument is the classic one. It has taken a long time but I think its time has come. However, I would like to discuss a new argument that pertains to something we have just been made aware of. When the Gov of Virginia actually intimated that abortion would not only be done up to the moment of birth but beyond, we were alerted to a new threat.
In 1973 when Roe came down I can actually remember thinking to myself that sooner or later there would be a demand for postnatal abortion. After all, once the fetus was dehumanized and the women’s need to avoid pregnancy lionized, the most obvious result would be to extend to infanticide rights after birth.
Here is the dynamic which I think was prompting the Gov of Virginia. In the last three months of pregnancy, there is an increased risk for the woman to have an abortion. It is a more complicated, difficult, and dangerous procedure. Thus there is a solution that I suspect is already being implemented all over the country. The safest thing to do for the woman is to first induce labor. She gives birth to the child. The umbilical cord is cut. Then the living baby is lethally injected. If no one was in the room to witness the event then they can claim they lethally injected the baby while still inside the womb, an abortion. Of course, the reality is that cold-blooded murder has been committed by anybody’s definition, including the definitions of Roe. This is what I think the Gov. of Virginia was after. This is what I think the abortion compulsives want. This is what I suspect they hoped a liberal packed court could provide.
The bedrock of all morality is the sanctity of a human life. Either we stop these people now or we will be entering a dystopian nightmare world where evil will be unleashed on a scale not yet seen. There is no more room to just compromise and hope for the future. There can be no compromise and no appeasement on this.
Winning isn’t everything, it is the only thing.

Why are pro-life Doctors different than pro-choice doctors? OB-GYNs are unusually pro-life people.
Jews may seem like a weird outlier with regard to religion but Jewish OB-GYNs are much more pro-life than there non OB-GYN coreligionists.
The one odd thing that stands out is that female OB-GYNs are more likely to do abortions when ladies tend to less pro-choice than men.

and, let’s face it, RBG was a terrible judge. She did not follow the law, she followed politics first and foremost, and her decisions were some of the worst in the history of the court. KDW has a good article over at NR discussing this. She is a “hero” to idiot feminists and nothing more.

I don’t know. Pro-choice doctors are a mystery to me. You spend your whole life dedicated to saving lives. But killing babies is ok. It’s the strangest thing…

After the civil war Lincoln and Lee emerged as the socially acceptable heroes for either side to revere and the other to grudgingly respect.
That meant whitewashing Lee’s culpability and giving unfairly short shrift to the memory to Grant and Sherman who did the morally necessary dirty work to save the union. But it was a necessary myth to put the country back together.
Due to their well publicized friendship, Scalia and Ginsberg could play the same role in the aftermath of our current spasm of political hatred. It might be equally ahistorical but we should hope that it happens.
I’ve received 13 Likes on my LinkedIn response (about half of them from women). One gentleman wrote the following…and my responses. Thus far, comments have been civil and I haven’t been called a sexist, misogynist, bigot, or accused of being a member of the He-Man Woman Haters Club:
While I like the idea they could be friends, my guess is it would be unlikely to happen today. The liberals I’m friends with I’ve known for a long time, and we’re not going to throw away our friendship over politics. These days? Making a new friend is absolutely conditional on one’s politics . . .
Because she is dead. And conservatives are polite. She was an ideologue and an awful judge.
Perhaps Larry should do some research about Christian-run pregnancy care centers. They exist, and they are numerous. Or other charity organizations like “Love, Inc.” These are places that help people to take care of themselves, and to better their lives.
The fact that often goes unnoticed is this. Private charity organizations consist mostly of pro-life individuals. Planned parenthood, on the other hand, is a murder factory and very little more. Liberal institutions who claim to care so much about the plights of women and the poor tend to be political operations first and foremost.
So, when Larry says that conservatives should walk the walk as well as talk the talk, he is simply being ignorant. If he opened his eyes, he would see that pro-lifers already do this.
So that’s who makes them–Spanx. Their products leave little to the imagination. For that reason, I disagree. That’s why men do like them–they don’t have to imagine! But it does cause me to wonder why a woman would wear those leggings in public and then get angry if a man guffaws when he stares at them.
