Continue ‘The Great Reveal’

A nomination by President Trump to the vacancy created on the Supreme Court by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and immediate action by Senate Majority Leader McConnell is an opportunity to expose almost every important player in the ‘swamp’ as well as all the ‘swamp’ supporters on the periphery.

At stake is the American Constitutional guarantee of an individual right to life, liberty, and property.

Let’s get it on.

If you thought Kavanaugh had a tough run in his hearings, wait until Trump’s RBG replacement has her turn . . .

To add some elaboration to that portion of the post addressing life, liberty, and property.

    Life – Roe versus Wade

Liberty – The 1st and 2nd Amendments to the Constitution

Property – Elements of the recent phenomenon labeled Anti-Racist which really boils down to ‘you didn’t build that’ and ‘you don’t own anything’.

Hear, hear! Its going to be ugly whenever it occurs. Best we get about it now and find out whether we have a two-party system still or not.

Perhaps the closest we can get to term limits is to see where politicians stand.

This seems kind of like a gift, especially if the debate includes a Biden list of nominations.

Biden is not going to release any names. Too much risk of offending some portion of the coalition of the fringes.

Interesting possibility: Trump’s nominee sucks all the air out of the election.

I wonder if the Democrats can hate Trump anymore than they already do?

It should at least make it interesting and possibly more truth-telling over posturing. That’s what I’m hoping for. President Trump knows this is the issue that put him over the top in 2016.

He’s already promised an African-American female, so I don’t know why he would be shy about names. Especially if it’s going to be the campaign issue.

“Elections have consequences.” – President Barack Obama

Among those consequences is the ability of the sitting President to appoint Supreme Court Justices when the need arises.

Will Lindsey Graham Eat His Own Words About No SCOTUS Nominee in Final Year of Trump Term?

If you need to get some serious hating done, Democrats are the people to do it.

    Ted Cruz agrees:

what Cruz said about a crisis last night.

Isn’t it a shame that there is worry about this Court going 4-4 in an election dispute. This is why it is crucial to get these votes when Senators have less opportunity to elude acting truthfully. When they are allowed to do otherwise we get deceived by the ‘swamp’ creatures.

I understand Stacey Abrams is willing to resign as Georgia governor for the spot, so there’s that.

Day before yesterday, on a 100 mile bicycle ride, I was counting Trump and Biden yard signs.  I don’t have the count yet; I was talking into my GoPro camera as I encountered each one. In Dowagiac MI I came across a huge Democrat yard sign that said, “It’s OK to change your mind.”

Somebody should let Lindsey Graham know.

I’m certain Graham will hear from his constituents in South Carolina. It’s so nice to know that no matter how much money comes from outside a state, a Senator’s election is still in the hands of the state’s voters. Too bad Utah’s voters lost their way on this point. I hope they will speak up and let Romney know how to represent Utah.

Yes. They are worried…serious Dem effort to unseat him. Already targeted, his only safe  path now is not lose any of his pissed off base. I guess I better get a yard sign. I used my last one as a target at the outdoor range.

Exactly.  At this point does anyone actually care what the Dims think?

They hate us because we’re us.  It’s not going to change.  It’s not going away.  Murkowski and Romney?  Forget them.  I would not be a bit surprised if they  declared themselves “woke” and switch parties if Trump gets another four years.

I think much of the strategy talk about the nomination is wrong.  Putting off the nomination is not good politics.
Leaving the vacancy open will demoralize the base: “It’s those cowardly republican folding again like a cheap suit. What’s the use?”
Worse, it will energize the left. It will give them an issue that will get more of their voters out.

Confirm any decent nominee because it is the constitutionally correct thing to do. Confirm her before the election because we may need an legitimate and competent supreme court to avoid a crisis (possibly a violent crisis.) Confirm her soon so tempers can settle before the election.

Republicans should never do strategy. They should just do.  They stink at strategy, and the news media will publish the stink.
