Yeah, the lefties are all losing their minds – at least more than normal – on social media.

“No. No. No.” is trending on Twitter.

Lots of them are certain that “we’re totally screwed now.”

A bunch are certain that Trump and McConnell will rush through a nomination (they won’t – having a SC seat up for grabs will motivate a lot of Never Trumpers to hold their noses and vote).

Generally, they’re acting like RBG was their favorite grandmother, when almost none of them would have recognized her if they saw her on the street.

Nice tribute that shows there is more to life than politics.

That said, I hope Justice Roberts does try to fill her void

Not Roberts.  Trump.  I wouldn’t trust Roberts’ choice.

The main thing is, I expect to hear a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth over “The Biden Rule,” but it doesn’t mean “no Supreme Court nominations in an election year.”  It means “no Supreme Court nominations in an election year WHEN THE SENATE IS CONTROLLED BY THE OPPOSITION PARTY FROM THE PRESIDENT.”  That was the case for Merrick Garland, it is NOT the case NOW.

these weeks leading up to the election are going to be extremely interesting.  I hope Trump and Mitch McConnell get the supreme court nominee on the bench before the election.

RIP, RGB…but since she was 87, and had been afflicted by a terminal disease for several years, I don’t want to keep hearing the NewsSpeakers keep referring to this death as a “tragedy.” It’s Life; it was inevitable; it was maybe a relief for that very old sick lady.

If Biden loses on or shortly after Election Night and court challenges ensue that get elevated to the Supreme Court, even if Trump is unable to get a new justice seated before Inauguration Day, it seems that POTUS could prevail in any Bush v. Gore-like challenge…though Justice Roberts, as we’ve witnessed can be highly unpredictable.

Better for Mitch McConnell to push through a conservative nominee to a vote as soon as possible.

Given what we saw with the Kavanaugh nomination, any vacancy on the court was likely to spark unrest and another circus atmosphere.

Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska has already signaled she won’t vote on a nominee until after the election. If the election is undecided weeks after Election Day, then getting the necessary votes could be a challenge. Susan Collins is also unlikely to be a reliable vote for the President’s nominee.

And you all thought the mayhem was subsiding.

Not Roberts’ choice, it is Roberts vote I was talking about. By “fill her void” I meant as a reliable vote. So we now have a 5-3 court or a 4-4 one? (Hopefully I am exaggerating but . . . Oh, this stuff never works when you have to explain it)

Oh, I see what you mean.  The void left by Roberts supposedly being a reliable conservative vote.

We’re close enough to the election that it’s a better move to wait, especially since it will make the Democrats even crazier than they normally are.

Yes, even under the Biden Rule, Trump is well within his (and our) rights to nominate a successor.  But for all his supposed boorishness, I suspect he’ll wait.  And even if Biden (Harris) should win, if the Senate remains in Republican control it wouldn’t be that far off for “lame duck” Trump to make a nomination anyway.

If the GOP goes ahead and starts to confirm a nominee this fall, Washington DC will have to go under martial law.  The Left is going to lose their minds over this.  I’m sure that there will paranoiac theories suggesting that she was murdered; but would Dem politicians buy into them?

Out of the depths I have cried unto Thee, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice.
Let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
If Thou, O Lord, shalt mark our iniquities: O Lord, who can abide it?
For with Thee there is mercy: and by reason of Thy law I have waited on Thee, O Lord.
My soul hath waited on His word: my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even unto night: let Israel hope in the Lord.
For with the Lord there is mercy: and with Him is plenteous redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

    (Eternal rest or “Requiem aeternam”)
Eternal rest give to them, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon them.
    May they rest in peace.
    Amen.

    V/. Lord, hear my prayer.
R/. And let my cry come unto Thee.

    Let us pray.
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful; grant to the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of all their sins, that by our devout supplications they may obtain that pardon which they have always desired. Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.

V/. Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord.
R/. And let perpetual light shine upon them.
V/. May they rest in peace.
    R/. Amen.

Trump should nominate Amy Coney Barret on Monday.  McConnell has just tweeted “President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”

Apparently McConnell understands the true meaning of The Biden Rule.  But I bet a lot of people don’t.  Especially Biden.
