“Goodness” on the Biden Campaign Trail
The Biden campaign has decided to ignore policy and ideology. Biden is presented to us as if he just arrived on the scene in his white hat on his white mount: a man of integrity, empathy, and, as uttered by that most eminent of Hollywood caricatures, Judge Elihu Smails, “goodness.” He scolds, he criticizes, he assumes this ludicrous mantle of goodness, and from his high horse, attempts to draw a contrast between himself and the obviously oafish, uncouth, unworthy, orange, Trump.
This is a pretty good pitch, designed to appeal to the white, female, suburban voter. You know the type: she believes herself to be more nuanced than mere partisanship. Left or right, she refuses to see the world in such terms. She may object to abortion, for example, or she may actually believe in limited governance, but she is really frightened of guns and likes her nice neighborhood with its nice schools for her children. She might believe that she is “independent” but she is really just unengaged. If she took the time to study the issues (which she will not; independents like to say they are informed, but what they really are is intellectually lazy) she would likely align far more with Trump than Biden. But she will not. She will vote with her gut. She is malleable, hence the campaign strategy. Biden good. Trump bad.
How should the Trump campaign react to this? Go after Biden on the “goodness” leap. Biden has a long history that defies that claim. Question: How did he manage to become a multi-millionaire as a lifetime politician? What about his brother and his son?
The objective should be this: Expose his ties to racist Democrats, his racist comments, his voting record. Cast a dark shadow on his crowd tested claim of the mantle of “goodness.” Drive a spike in his “everyman” persona. Show the suburban woman voter the touchy, creepy Joe Biden.
Don’t let the Democrats repackage creepy old Joe as some kind of Democrat saint. He’s still the plagiarist, Charlatan, patronizing, corrupt, opportunistic, kinda slow old Joe. It’s time to pierce through the BS and put a real spotlight on the real man and his politics.
Joe Biden belongs in the pond, not the pool.

I would love it if exposing Joe Biden for the creepy corrupt dunce that he has proven himself to be was effective. But so many of the people you are taking about are determined to not have their lightly considered views changed. They might as well cover their ears and say la-la-la-la-la. I don’t know how to fix it other then to keep plugging away and hope for the best.
I also want to like this post ten more times for quoting that great philosopher, Judge Smails (and using his first name). At my wife’s fling squadron reunions we always watch Caddyshack, and attendees quote liberally from the movie.
My friend Tom was a high school teacher and was often disappointed when he told students “you’ll get nothing and like it!” and they never got the reference.
I think playing up the idea that Biden won’t be able to control the more angry woke radicals in his party because of his declining mental state, while tying the violence, looting and arson of the past four months worth of riot is a way to force suburban women to confront the idea that a vote for Joe might not simply be a vote for Joe, but instead be a vote for Kamala and anyone else repetitively high up in the Democratic Party who have condoned or excused those actions (i.e. — just mocking Biden for seeming to be in the early stages of dementia would likely trigger sympathy among suburban women for Trump picking on Joe, compared to explaining how Biden’s deterioration may end up negatively impacting them. their homes, their families and their overall quality of life. Doing an ad with some of the suburbanites who’ve had to carry guns and other weapons when BLM and/or Antifa tried to come to their neighborhoods wouldn’t be a bad idea).
I think we just need to keep pounding away, from all sides, to discredit Biden. Let’s not forget his ugly business with China and Ukraine.
Electing Joe Biden isn’t electing Joe Biden. He is my Father-In-Law with alzheimers. It’s electing BLM, AOC and Secretary of the Looters Nancy Pelosi. Strange how people don’t see it.
I think it’s a mistake to label Joe Biden “stupid” or a “dunce.” There’s a big, big difference between low-IQ and foolish. Joe Biden is a fool. Nothing he or the Left proposes has ever worked to improve people’s lives and, yet, he can’t seem to learn from the failures. This is arrogance (the opposite of humility). It’s intellectually lazy. It’s hubris. But, it isn’t stupidity. Leftists aren’t stupid. They’re driven by lust for power by any means necessary. Thus, the false narratives and false promises. Ultimately, it’s just wicked.
I can’t make any sense of it other than the suspicion that these suburbanites think somehow that the Dems will “calm down” or “corral” the violence to somewhere away from them personally by appeasing the far left. Republicans need to promote the idea that Dems non-existent response will embolden those elements, and that they will break out of the downtowns of the handfull of cities just because of having no downside repercussions. Liberal suburbs for some reason are afraid that a strong response will further “fan the flames,” (as a Biden ad I saw implied Trump was already guilty for doing).
