An Open Letter to WI Gov. Tony Evers

Governor Evers:

Perhaps you failed World History?  Maybe you learned all the wrong lessons from World War II, or from the Obama administration sending planeloads of cash to Iran.  I say this because, even though the investigation is not complete in the Jacob Blake case, you have rushed to judgment.  You’ve already convicted the officers, and found that they acted improperly.  You may not have said so directly, but it appears you have now tried to appease the angry crowd burning your state to the ground by stating you’re going to push for police reform.  Whatever happened to getting the facts first?

Neville Chamberlain tried that with Nazi Germany.  You may recall that wound up costing Britain dearly, and that when the United States got dragged into that war we spent 36% of our gross national product and hundreds of thousands of lives putting an end to it.  In case you’re wondering, that’s about $4.6 trillion in today’s dollars.  Appeasement does not work.

Obama sent $150,000,000,000 to Iran.  What did that get us?  Iran funded terror in Iraq, Syria, and across the middle-east.  They attacked shipping.  They shot down our drones.  They have become more hostile, not less hostile.  Appeasement does not work.  What part of that do you not understand?

And in this Jacob Blake debacle, whose cause are you really championing?  A man with a mile-long rap sheet, prior domestic violence and other criminal charges, and a guy who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest at the time he actively resisted arrest in front of his children. In front of his children!  He surely thought he could get away by using his children as a human shield, thinking the cops would not shoot him because the children were there.  He was under arrest.  He should be charged with escape and attempting to elude, not treated like a hero for failing to obey the commands of the police.

Blake had a knife.  It was a Karambit knife with a scythe-shaped blade designed for slashing.  In other words, a fighting knife.  The police can be heard telling him to drop the knife.  When he gets into his car, after being ordered not to, and reaches inside, it’s pretty clear he wasn’t getting out a box of Thin Mints for the responding officers.  A man armed with a knife against guns is most likely going into his vehicle for a gun to even the odds.  That would have been my analysis, and I’m not a cop.  Any reasonable police officer in that situation would have shot him.

You waited far too late to call in the National Guard.  You had best consider yourself lucky I do not live in Wisconsin, because I would be leading a recall effort today.  You failed your test of leadership.  How?  Because your immediate knee-jerk response to Blake getting shot because he (1) resisted arrest; (2) disobeyed officers commands to drop a knife; and (3) reached into a vehicle when he was ordered not to indicate that you are either too weak or too unwise to govern.

There was no need for speed in reaching a conclusion the officers acted improperly.  There was no need for sloth in sending in the National Guard.  You failed twice in the same day.  How can you in good conscience claim a right to keep your job?

You should resign.

Anthony L. DeWitt

    And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

Tony Evers is one of the least-impressive politicians in the nation. He doesn’t really know what to do or say until his controllers tell him. He’s the proverbial post turtle. The real power in this state is standing in the shadows behind the throne.

Our oldest son is currently at Ft. Benning, Basic Training for the Wisconsin National Guard.

We’ve hardly heard from him due to their schedule. He won’t be done with Advanced Infantry  Training till mid-January.

I pray that the Left gets a Bilblical asskicking this November, that these Marxist rioters start eating lead and that this pustule of a governor gets shellacked in 2022.

While seeing Evers recalled would be satisfying,  the Lt. Governor is probably worse.

I still can barely believe that the Left’s/Democrat plan is to shut-down their respective states economies, rachet-up  the economic hardship of their  citizens, tacitly encourage the razing of their cities, setting race relations back decades, all for power & to demonstrate their hatred for Normal America.

    These SOBs are evil.

I don’t get it either. I keep thinking “What’s in it for them?” Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven? They certainly seem intent on creating hell on earth.

I’m afraid to ask but knowing Evers and the Democrats around him, I really wonder exactly what ROE these WI Guard units have been given and if (IF!) they actually have live rounds.

I would prefer them to be armed with ultra-low-frequency generators that would result in protesters pooping themselves. Much hilarity for us and humiliation for them. Sadly, the ACLU has determined that such things should not be allowed.

Forgive my cynicism but I have to ask, “Why does any of this matter?”  One of my newsfeeds this morning had the headline of “The disturbing video shows at least two rioters with rifles as fellow rioters block police.”  And, sure enough, there there they were and the police did not one thing, except to meekly stand there.  (There’s no need to link to the video; the scene is played out in ten different cities each night.)

Excuse me; they are blocking police?  Does it ever cross the minds of our “protectors”, that our cities might benefit if they actually went on the offensive?

The situation should have been handled in clear no-nonsense manner.  The armed rioters should have been given three seconds to place their weapons on the ground or dropped in their tracks. (When a cop encounters a thug carrying a weapon, in any other setting, isn’t the cop justified in disarming him?) Those blocking the police should have been removed by any means necessary.

Of course, this will never happen.  The streets of our cities are now owned by the rioters.  They smell the fear of our posturing city and state officials and realize they can loot, burn, and even murder without fear of arrest.

I suspect we are merely postponing the inevitable.  Last weekend I saw that in Portland there were clashes between Antifa and The Proud Boys.  I thought immediately about post-Weimar Germany and the daily clashes between the Communists and the Brown Shirts.  How long before we have the same situation in this country?

Again, forgive my cynicism.  However it no longer matters whether we’re talking about Tony Evers, Ted Wheeler, Lori Lightfoot, Bill de Blasio or any of the rest of them.  They are all miserable failures.  Rather than risk losing their precious “progressive” credentials they have caved to the worst (and lowest) in our society.  A pox be on all their houses.

I’d wager that things are going to be much worse tonight.  I’m listening to Kenosha Police radio and there are property owners finding ammunition caches in the bushes, pedestrians photographing police, people filling gas cans at stations (police contacting neighboring towns to have gas stations closed and shut off the pumps) and numerous vehicles arriving with either no plates or blacked out plates.

First, he only called up 100 when the retired Sheriff, Clarke, said he needed a thousand.  Tonight, I hear he plans on 250.  Evers is a Teachers’ Union hack.  Wisconsin and some other states need a “wartime consigliere.”

Thanks for posting these photos.  It really makes the case for shooting this creep.  If he wasn’t satisfied holding a knife and he was reaching into his car, it’s hard to posit a reason for that other than a larger, more deadly, deadly weapon.

Or to draw in a cop who would pull him back, allowing him to spin around and slash.

Thought I saw on Twitter that he was actually slashing (at the cops? at bystanders?) with this knife before he headed for the car.

But I would think that the police showing the existence of a more deadly weapon would be called for, if true.  Why aren’t they showing it?

He’s worse. He’s a bureaucrat who only qualifies as a politician because the state school superintendent is an elected position, and got reelected on inertia until he fell into the governor’s slot.

Yeah, the Biden parallels are pretty striking.

Local activists have announced a “peaceful protest” here for Saturday. You know, give a few days’ lead time to get all the criminals from the Twin Cities and from Milwaukee and Chicago over here.

I have a very bad feeling about this.

That’s so true.  If a peaceful pro-Confedrate monument protest were announced, you can bet the white supremacists will show up and ruin it for everybody.  It’s likely antifa and now BLM will show up too.  Talk about a powderkeg.

I’m starting to think any protest these days will turn violent eventually.

@Stad, that’s not a bug, it’s a feature.  That’s the whole point of these protests.  They’re designed as cover for rioting and lawlessness.  The idea of social change incrementally through changing hearts and minds is dead.  Apparently it died with MLK and no one noticed.
