Largest New York City Police Union Endorses Trump
In a rare endorsement, the Police Benevolent Association of New York City, a union representing 24,000 of NYC’s 36,000 police, has endorsed President Donald Trump for reelection. From Ivan Pentchoukov in the Epoch Times:
The largest union representing New York Police Department officers on Aug. 14 endorsed President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
“I have 36 years in this job, 21 as a president of this fine organization. I cannot remember when we’ve ever endorsed for the office of president of the United States until now. That’s how important this is,” said Patrick Lynch, the president of the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York (PBA).
“Mr. President, we are fighting for our lives out there. We don’t want this to spread to the rest of this country,” Lynch added. “Now, many times people say that a union like ours, law enforcement group, gives endorsements. Not in the New York City PBA, sir. In the New York City PBA, Mr. President, you earn the endorsement and you’ve earned this endorsement. I’m proud to give it.”
These police have been shat upon by their mayor, their city council, and for more than 70 days the Insurrection, all of whom thought to achieve political advantage at the expense of the thin blue wall. I regularly hear John Batchelor speak with awe and reverence of the New York City police, their professionalism and their grit, as a newscaster who has long worked in Manhattan. Now they have spoken on the issue of the day, another great example of Americans that have seen the corruption and disorder and are ready to just say no.

Unfortunately, Kamala Harris has the Postal Workers Union behind her and gramps.
Which should be the last nail in the coffin of vote by mail.
That alone should disqualify large-scale vote-by-mail.
I checked to confirm the endorsement, as I found it almost beyond belief that anybody would consider it appropriate for a group of workers who are proposed to be a major part of carrying out an election to campaign for one of the candidates in that election.
Any political incumbent runs against constituents’ current quality of life. Contrasting himself as a law-and-order President with images and reports of what Democrats have indulged in their cities might be the best campaign strategy for Trump. But he needs a record of federal arrests and prosecutions to show in those ads that he isn’t just idly cheering on the police.
We have vote by mail and we will have to fight a war in November.

These are strange times.
There was also this one. “The National Association of Police Organizations, which endorsed Obama and Biden in 2008 and 2012, has endorse President Donald Trump for re-election in 2020.”
Police organizations controlled by rank and file appear ready to defend themselves even if it means switching the traditional sides.
Or ANY vote-by-mail.
The speculation for a while has been that James Comey and Andrew McCabe were forced to come out with the information about classified data being on Huma and Anthony Weiner’s computer in October of 2016 because the computer had been seized by NYPD first, and not by the FBI in Washington, so there was the possibility NYPD would leak the information before Election Day if the Justice Department tried to run out the clock for Hillary. So not an endorsement per se, but it was an open secret the bulk of NYPD was pro-Trump four years ago (and there were also rumors FBI-NY felt the same way, since they also knew the truth about the laptop and were a potential leak source that might have forced Comey’s hand).
I wonder what the death toll would have been if a de-funded NYPD had tried to operate on 9/11/2001.
The anti-police talk got me to thinking about Kipling’s poem “Tommy”:

Don’t they know the man is not fit to be President and that if they really want to stick it to the Democrats and people who hate them they should first get Biden into office and Democrats complete control of the country, and then in two and four years, then they can endorse the new re-formed 100% Ronald Reagan GOP?
At least that is what I have heard.

Apparently they have enjoyed about as much of Democratic rule as they can stand. Not that I expect the clever tools at the “Lincoln” Project to appreciate that from their penthouse apartments snacking on champagne and caviar watching the deliciously colorful flames lapping among the common people.

Yes. If Biden had received the endorsement, she would have had no problem with it.
That “the bulk of the NYPD was pro-Trump four years ago” strikes me as implausible, except in the sense that police tend to be more Republican by default than other unions.
Four years ago, the NYPD did not yet have reason to be pro-Trump, because the police had not yet been abandoned by their traditional allies in the Democratic Party. Their position at the public trough, like any other public employee union, and their special legal privileges, were not yet jeopardized.
However I have leftie friends who are now convinced that Trump is screwing with the mail, and are refusing to send there ballots by mail and slamming the process.
At least it’s good news at a time when it’s rare.
I hear that as good news. The less people trust the vote-by-mail process from more than one side of the political spectrum, the less likely we will be subjected to it.
Vox of course wrote this up four years ago like it was a bad thing for Trump, but in one of the debates with Hillary he had NYPD’s back on ‘Stop and Frisk’, which even by 2016 was getting trashed by the usual sources, as well as by the mayor of the city, even as NYPD defended the procedure. So again, there wasn’t an official endorsement in 2016 for Trump, but it wasn’t a big secret which candidate the NYPD collectively wanted to win.

Democrats treat their constituents like battered wives… Sure she may stay with a girlfriend when things get a little rough, but she always comes home for the kids, right?
Policemen see enough beaten women going home, to know how that’ll work out.
As far as the postal workers go, sue the union in every state where there are ‘irregularities’ … if nothing else, the discovery should be interesting.
Why are there 7 unions representing postal workers?
