Davell Gardner, Jr. His Life Matters—or, Mattered.
Who knows what he would have become? After all, this is America where life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are guaranteed. He might have been President of the United States, he might have been head of some multinational corporation and a billionaire, or a devoted husband and loving father of his own beautiful children with a very prominent position in some New York City consultancy.
But he will be none of those things because he no longer exists. No one, after his funeral today, will ever again hear this baby’s name, although there may be a few mentions tomorrow not of little Davell, but of what is sure to be described as a movingly emotional eulogy given by The Reverend Al Sharpton. Who else? No, he and his name will no longer exist, because they are inconvenient to the far-far-left media’s narrative to admit that he even existed, much less that he was killed by an animal or animals of his own race. God Forbid that we would ever admit that.
But I would like to remember him here and now: his name was Davell Gardner, Jr. and we should say his name, loud and clear, and we should remember him and his life, because, in the purest sense of that term before it was so utterly profaned by the BLM “movement,” it mattered.
And he should not be just a brief flicker of life which mattered, albeit so pitifully and heartrendingly short. He will, as surely as night follows day, be totally erased from any mention in the media as of two days from now, if not before. He will remain forgotten by the moron who is Mayor of New York City, who just eliminated most of the budget of the NYPD and will certainly be forgotten by the “trained Marxists” who head up the BLM “movement” as it may be safely assumed they were too busy stage-managing the burning and pillaging of American cities to even know of his passing. In all fairness, however, it should be recorded that his funeral and wake will be paid for by an NBA star.
Davell’s Grandmother had this to say:
“They (are) talking about ‘Black Lives Matter,'” said Davell’s grieving grandmother, “but Black lives don’t matter because Black people (are) trying to kill other Black people.” Samantha Garner added what we are all thinking: “It needs to stop! … Catch the bastards!”
His name was Davell Gardner, Jr. We should remember him. God knows what was taken from us when the animal–yes, Pelosi liberals, only an animal would do something like this to a baby boy –pulled the trigger which sent the bullet on its way to end one more life in the world of “leaders” like Bill de Blasio who actually think eliminating the police is the way to save lives.
He was killed by animals and they will keep killing until they are stopped — by, if necessary, overwhelming force. They are trying harder and harder every single day to destroy our Beloved Nation and if a baby boy in his stroller gets in the way, so be it.
They must be stopped or there will be innumerable more Davells cut down because they “were in the way.”
Davell Gardner, Jr. should be remembered.

How many Davell Gardners are there each year? Perhaps they get older, maybe seven or twelve? This is a beautiful and moving tribute, but how many times must it be done each year?

justgrew up to be a regular person with a regular life, he should not have died. I read so many wonderful remembrances on Ricochet of family. Often theyjustled lives that would not be labeled celebrated or historical or “important.” But oh they are so important. Davell Gardner, Jr. you will be missed in ways we do not know and we as Americans and your fellow human beings are poorer for it. God bless you and comfort your family.All black lives matter:

I object to calling humans animals. Humans do evil things because they’re evil. Evil in a way that animals cannot be evil. Dehumanizing criminals is just another evil.
Point taken. Until very recently, even after a probably-longer-than-healthy career as a Trial Lawyer, I was very reticent about calling anyone a liar, as in my Dad’s time that would involve more than a trigger warning and a cup of cocoa, and I repeatedly reminded myself that, as a Christian, I was taught not to “hate” another person. The recent years have brought changes in both of those ideas, as we seem to be living in a veritable sea of lies and hatred. I used the word “animal” to describe these street thugs because we see on the nightly news every single night lately scenes of “people” who have the appearance in dress and manner of human beings, but who are conducting themselves in a manner very similar to packs of wolves or other predators on the prowl for their next victim. I am not, and do not pretend to be, any kind of theologian, but in my lay observation, some of these predators have lost all semblance of whatever humanity they once knew. While I greatly respect your view, and all views here on Ricochet, anyone who shoots a young mother with her small child in a playground to death because she said she thought all lives mattered lost any right to be called a human being. That was the act of an “animal.” Full stop.

What you say makes sense if Black Lives Matter was actually about Black lives. BLM is actually about Marxism and racially based oikophobia. This cannot be repeated enough.
Marxists have a playbook when it comes to getting support among groups that have been treated unfairly.
My ‘favorite’ example of this is that they named a predominantly homosexual community in San Francisco named their street Castro after Fidel Castro. Castro’s Cuba literally sent gays into gulags but the Marxists were so effective at pushing their agenda this was ignored by homosexual-Americans.
A light of this world extinguished in the most brutally heartbreaking way. Instead of the clownish slogans they are going to put on their jerseys, the NBA players should put this little boy’s name on their backs. He deserves his name to be spoken.

So very true. The first time I became aware of this strange phenomenon of the huge number of black deaths from crime was during the Travon Martin trial. Obama was politicizing the heck out of it. I forget where or how but I became aware of a website that literally covered the body count every weekend in Chicago. I think it was the July 4th weekend that summer when there was a record number of dead in Chicago. There was a 5-year-old child. His mother had taken him to a park at lunchtime. He was riding on the swing set. Drive-by gangbangers shot up the neighborhood. A stray bullet killed this innocent 5-year-old boy. Meanwhile, as it became clear that Travon Martin was anything but innocent and Obama was going to milk this for political gain anyway, all I could think about was the 5-year-old.
