If You Don’t Ask, You Must Not Want My Vote

Ballot box Dear (appointed) Senator Martha McSally,

If you do not ask, you must not want my vote. You were rejected by Arizona voters when you last ran for the U.S. Senate. Now, after being appointed to our other U.S. Senate seat by Governor Doug Ducey, you appear to be pretending that there is no primary election in this state. But, there is a primary election on August 4, 2020. I have my absentee ballot in hand. Clearly, Republicans and Arizonans who are registered Independent have a real choice. We can vote for you or for Daniel McCarthy. So, why are you hiding? Are you really running at all this year? Do you believe you are a real incumbent who can afford to play the old game of refusing to acknowledge an opponent? You are not.

Arizona Republican Senate BallotDaniel McCarthy has been serious about seeking my vote. His campaign is hitting my phone number almost daily with a short pitch by the candidate. He is asking for my vote and giving me reasons to fill in the bubble next to his name. You, on the other hand, have shown me and every other Arizona Republican and Independent voter complete contempt. How dare you presume on my support?

You want my money. That is perfectly clear from your constant fund-raising appeals. Yet, you fail to offer any reason for me to actually vote for you over Daniel McCarthy, who you apparently fear. You hide behind Kelli Ward, the two-time Senate loser who shed her Tea-Party disguise as soon as she was given the chair of the Arizona Republican Party. She has not demanded that you debate, providing you cover. So, her lack of integrity rubs off on your image.

Your A-10 pilot pitch becomes an irritant, as your claim of courage then has not translated into present political courage. I admired your fight for the Constitution and for women against the old boy club in the Air Force and Pentagon that used the pretext of Saudi men’s supposed religious and cultural sensitivities to subject American military women to degrading treatment. You have shown none of that integrity or courage in your campaign, if it is even a real campaign.

If you want my vote in November, you must first ask for it before the primary, and you must engage with Daniel McCarthy in a real debate, easily arranged over the internet and social media. In the alternative, you will be letting me know that your campaign is a sham, and that I should focus on helping real candidates pick up other states’ Senate seats. to make up for you throwing the general election to another Democrat.

McSally hides from voters

In the primaries, I tend to vote against almost every incumbent.

I have to ask. If someone is pretending to run like (Mittens) or (McMean) could it be they intend to loose ?

@cliffordbrown, who is the challenger?    Has he ever been elected to anything?   Does he have a base of support, or is he a no-hoper?  Or worse yet, a Democrat plant to make MM spend money and resources in the primary?

    Just asking…..

It’s funny to me that even though I live in CA, I get fund raising letters from her all the time. Maybe it’s that check I wrote to support Trump or Ted Cruz? I can’t think of any other reason.

Yes, I get the same from other states as well.

He is no Democrat plant. As I explained, she desperately needs to get face-time now and she desperately needs to gain the support of the Republican and Republican-leaning or Trump-supporting registered independents. She is squandering good will and failing to spend money to actually win over those voters skeptical of her conservative credentials. There is no real conflict between spending money in the primary and spending money in the general campaign. Hiding now gives the Democrats, Mark Kelly and Joe Biden, cover for hiding from debates in the general election.

I, once again, do not understand her campaign. I maxed out of her in 2018 and then she never debated.  I was briefly interested in McCarthy but have seen no kore about him.

When  the Senate next votes on a Supreme Court nominee, the vote could easily be 50-50 or 51-49.

Republicans who made a personal statement by not voting for their local GOP candidate in the 2018 general election gave us Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.

Enough of that. It’s not about you, it’s about your country.

If you’re fortunate enough to live in a state which is not automatically Democrat, it is your moral obligation to vote GOP in 2020.

You didn’t answer my first and second questions, so I researched.  Never elected to anything, and wants to start at the US Senate level.  Wealthy self-funder.    Doesn’t matter how nice, principled, or well-intentioned they are……these types of candidates almost never win.    If by some miracle he won the primary, he’d get chewed up by the Kelly campaign in the general.

Why are some voters skeptical of McSally’s conservative credentials?    I haven’t followed her that closely, but I’m not aware that she’s done anything to buck the GOP caucus or stray from the Trump agenda.

Kelly has also never run for office. Look at McSally’s conservative vote ratings, which I address in another post. They stink. She is her own worst opponent, as she fails continuously at basic constituent service and is running the same campaign strategy that ended in a loss to a leftist in a pink tutu. Now she is busy throwing away our other Senate seat to an astronaut.

Yes. And. We have primaries before we have general elections, even if some people want to pretend otherwise. McSally is busy throwing the general election to the astronaut Mark Kelly with her same failed strategy from 2018, hiding from her party’s primary voters. She should be actively seeking our support in the primary so that people are positively motivated to not only vote but work to get other to vote for her and President Trump in October and November (we have early voting).
