BLM Increases Protests Against Back the Blue
“Back the Blue” demonstrations that support law enforcement are increasing across the country, and BLM has begun to hold 
counter-protests. There hasn’t been violence; yet. I worry that these supporters for police officers will be shut down, however, if we don’t stay vigilant.
Do you know about Back the Blue? Citizens all over the country are organizing and demonstrating their support for law enforcement. From my research, I was able to identify at least a dozen protests in the last month: Tavares, FL; Springfield, MS; Pima County, AZ; Jupiter, FL; Jensen Beach, FL; Tampa, FL; Palm City, FL; Brooklyn, NY; Jacksonville, FL; Omaha, NE; Los Angeles, CA; Plattsburgh, NY and Parkland, FL. Attendance ranged from a couple of hundred to 2,000 people. The earlier protests in June met little to no resistance. As soon as Back the Blue began to become more visible and better attended, BLM decided it needed to show up. Although some of the encounters were tense, there have been no violent incidents that I could identify.
Those who have attended the Back the Blue rallies have been thoughtful and clear about their mission:
‘With everything going on right now, I’ve seen so many cops and deputies afraid about going to work and worry about what’s going to happen to them and that’s really sad. But not every officer is bad,’ [Holly]Sams said. ‘It’s a pretty big deal for me personally and I know there are people out there who also want to uplift these law enforcement agencies so they can see how many people still support them.’

I believe all cops shouldn’t be treated the same as one bad apple. I think we should keep funding the police because we need them to protect all lives, black lives do matter but so do all lives. And without cops how will we protect everyone?

It is a time in our history that we need this more than ever. We need to always identify and remove bad cops while SIMULTANEOUSLY lifting up and thanking the good cops,’ Flores wrote on Twitter. ‘It’s not a one or the other.’
The importance of these protests and our support of those who attend them are critical in these times. These rallies aren’t just a meaningless gesture; they represent all of us who believe in the rule of law and the necessity of having well-trained and reliable law enforcement. I expect to see an increase in BLM protests and violence at Back the Blue demonstrations, as the number of participants and rallies grow and their voices are heard.
We must acknowledge that law enforcement is our last bastion against violence and chaos.
To complicate the situation, police officers are retiring in droves. In New York City alone, 503 officers filed for retirement between May 25 and July 3. Due to the volume, the department has set a limit on the number of retirement filings that can be made per day.

One organization that has backed Back the Blue is ACT for America, which Brigitte Gabriel began many years ago in response to terrorism. She was a Christian born in Lebanon, and from the age of 10 to 17 years, she lived in an underground bomb shelter. The website provides free downloads for the accouterments for Back the Blue rallies.
Brigitte Gabriel knows what it means to live in an unfree society. Maybe we should follow her lead in fighting for America.

Florida’s Attorney General, Ashley Moody, has a Back the Blue campaign which “highlights law enforcement officers, citizens and organizations taking extraordinary steps to forge positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.”
Neither the Act for America or the Back the Blue FB page show any scheduled rallies. Act for America gives you resources for making your own rally, but doesn’t list any of the places that have requested resources. How do we find out about places that doing rallies?

I did write to Act for America, but I’m not hopeful. In looking over their materials, they are understandably wanting people to join their organization. It’s inexpensive, but I’m not much of a joiner. Still, their Power Point presentation download has all the steps to hold a rally. I’m at a disadvantage because I’m not on Twitter or Facebook and have no interest in joining. Still, maybe I’ll talk to Grady Judd, our sheriff, to get his input.

I hope they have someone contacting some of the companies who adorned their websites with BLM materials.

This is a very good time to stand up for policemen. Especially if you ever expect a 911 call to be answered again. In every way you can find.
Tonight Fox News reported an altercation between BLM and Back the Blue in Brooklyn, NY. It may have been just a dust-up, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone was hurt. I’ll check on it.
Edit: It was week-end news which I reported here, although there were some fists thrown.
Actually, we had an incident in Provo,IT with Back the Blue and a group called Insurgents. Shots were fired and there have been arrests. Provo is next door to Orem. They’re both college towns, but Provo has had problems with protests and counter protests.

They side with the thugs because they are afraid of them, and know our goodness can be taken for granted. It is narrow minded, self centered, and a poor long term strategy.
Places like New York City are where these pro-police demonstrations matter most. In my area, people generally support the police. We have no demonstrations because we have no need of them. Democrat-dominated cities are where BLM, anti-police sentiment, and crime are most evident.
People in my area have reached out to police in other ways to show them appreciation. But to march here would be mere virtue signaling.
The support police most need in high-crime areas is political support, which Democrats and their voters will not provide. Until there is opportunity for election of a local Giuliani, those police departments are on their own.
Plenty of citizens would be willing to provide extraordinary support in extraordinary circumstances, but America’s legal culture has changed to make the government’s monopoly on force absolute. District attorneys attempt to punish self-defense, let alone defense of neighbors from imminent violence.
Hi. I just dropped in to virtue signal. When Amazon bragged about backing BLM while BLM bragged about attacking the family and capitalism, I stopped doing business with Amazon. I challenge others to do the same. </end virtuesignaling>
That’s a very good point, @aaronmiller. Our sheriff, Grady Judd, is highly regarded, as are our deputies.
It’s an uphill battle, but we need to continue to fight.

This makes me so angry! In grief about losing her father, she has to endure attacks to her tribute to him. People are insane. For every attack on her, I wish she’d thought to say, “I disagree.” Period.
They are telling us who and what they are. That is valuable information. And the Internet always remembers. And I doubt the police community will soon forget.
