Remembering the 200th Podcast Party Discussed in This Week’s 500th

I heard the guys mention this shindig in this week’s 500th episode, though they mistakenly referred to it as the 250th. I was fortunate to attended and put this video together to share with those members unable to make it.

Look closely and you’ll see the likes of Jonah Goldberg, Dennis Prager, Pay Sajak, Troy Senick, Mollie Hemingway, Dave Carter, Andrew Klavan, a whole host of fine members other notables, and of course, James, Peter and Rob. Forgive the lengthy opening showing USC…it was meant to set the scene for those unfamiliar with the locale.

If you listened to this week’s podcast, the memories shared were tied to a particular party thrown by Rob the night before at his place in Venice, and how it was crashed. I actually attended the 200th as a guest of said party crasher, DocJay, and though I did not participate in the previous night’s crashing, Doc did fill me in on the evening’s escapades with pride, admitting as he did that his pursuits did leave Rob a tad annoyed. I am sure Doc smiles knowing his shenanigans still resonate 300 podcasts later.

What fun! I recognized all the people you named! Maybe that just says I’ve been around a little too long . . . ?

    Thanks for sharing this video.

Here’s hoping for a #600 party!  Perhaps at the Reagan Presidential Center?

It was a “grrreat” night (saying that with a Scottish accent)  A brief regrettable shot of me (I was making a last ditch attempt to bring hats back and was the only person wearing one)

Nope, not Scottish.  Tony the Tiger . . .

That was a fun night. I wasn’t active on the site at the time, and being shy by nature, didn’t interact with many people that night. I remember you posting this video after the event and sending me the picture of my family you used.

I suggested some locations in Albuquerque during the Before Time when there was a discussion about an event for the 500th episode. Two years is a ways out, maybe they can do something here for #550, although Karen Wuhan might still have the state locked down.

I was there too (in the background at 1:03) but I don’t think we met until much later.

Thanks for posting this, @lance. It’s a good memory.

I think we met at the meetup @6foot2inhighheels organized right before the 2016 election.

Let me know when the SoBay breweries are back open and I’ll let you know when JY”s new knee is bending enough to get him in a car.

At the party the night before, yes; he was with Doc Jay in the infamous TP incident. I remember he was drinking Grey Goose and I gave him grief for drinking Frog Vodka instead of Good Rooshian wudka.

Great video! Thanks so much for posting it – saving it for my Archives.

Either Dennis Prager and DocJay are giants, or they made a point of standing next to a lot of short people that night.
