I’m with Kamala on This

Sen. Kamala Harris, joined by Sens. Tammy Duckworth and Mazie Hirono, introduced a resolution in the Senate condemning the use of phrases such as “Wuhan virus,” “Chinese virus,” and “Kung flu” as racist.

I have a proposal for a fitting alternative.

Given what we now know via genomics analysis, most of the COVID-19 cases in the United States originated in, or with travel from, the New York metro area. I think we should be calling it the New York Flu. Over to you, Governor Cuomo!

Note: Though the first-known cluster was in Washington state, it was contained and is not the source of most of the US cases.

    Doug,

I’m shocked, yes shocked! You aren’t suggesting that Kamala Harris, Tammy Duckworth, and Mazie Hirono will be getting fat campaign contributions from the accounts of the CCP. Surely they aren’t that crude. A stock option or two to wet their beaks maybe, but not a direct deposit.

I mean really, who does know what evil lurks in the hearts of men. Lighten up would’ja.

    Regards,

    Jim

    Dear Senator Harris:

Can I ask my spouse if she wants Chinese for dinner?  Is it better if I don’t specify Hunan Chicken?  I really like Szechuan Pork.  Am I good?

    Thanks in advance.

It’s the ChiCom Bioweapon Virus.  So there  I ain’t being racist, just truthful.

The overwhelming evidence is that the COVID-19 virus was man made, and overwhelming  the evidence finds that the lab where it came from was the Wuhan Institute of Virology Level 4 Bioweapons Lab of the ChiCom Army.

It is a Chimera virus meaning it is made from at least two different viruses, and this chimera corona virus has not been found in animals. Anywhere. For all those yapping about it being  made in nature please show us the COVID-19 virus in  animals that is infecting humans because we have absolutely no such evidence.

One  of the ingredient corona viruses is a Bat CoronaVirus  identified as RaTG-13 in which there is a 96% match of many of the proteins with COVID-19 , and the other principal contributor  corona virus  comes from Pangolins  where there is a 99% match with many of the proteins. Add to that COVID-19 in someway had to be transformed  so that Coronavirus became transferrable from animals to humans, which would take many decades in the wild of mutations or more  but more than likely came from a lab interaction from a Polybasic Furin Cleavage to make the CoronaVirus  transmittable to humans from animals. Neither the contributing Bat virus or the Pangolin virus is transferrable from animals to humans now.

To believe that COVID-19 came from nature one  would have to believe the nearly impossible scenario that Bats from a cave in Northern China infected the few remaining almost extinct Pangolins  in the Philippines and then those Pangolins  would then somehow have had to infect back the same Bats   so they could infect people in the Wuhan Wet market with the Chimera virus that somehow along the way mutated likely for a period of at least 50 years  so it could be transferable to humans.  Add to that nearly impossible scenario is the problem that COVID-19 has somehow become much more transferable from human to human than transferable from animals; a trait that normally could only be achieved by work done in a lab.

    Gumby,

It might be interesting if someone were to interview the president of Taiwan and get her opinion.

President Tsai Ing-wen Begins Second Term: ‘Every Single Person in Taiwan Is a Hero’

Tsai Ing-wen delivered her second inauguration speech on Wednesday, vowing that she would continue to lead Taiwan “in the values of democracy and freedom” and rejecting China’s efforts to colonize the island.

For the first time in decades, the government of the United States congratulated a Taiwanese president on her inauguration. President Donald Trump notably broke with Carter-era protocol before his own inauguration in 2016 to speak with Tsai. This year, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo did the honors.

“Her re-election by a huge margin shows that she has earned the respect, admiration, and trust of the people on Taiwan. Her courage and vision in leading Taiwan’s vibrant democracy is an inspiration to the region and the world,” Pompeo said of Tsai in a statement. “As we look toward the future, I am confident that, with President Tsai at the helm, our partnership with Taiwan will continue to flourish.”

Anyone who isn’t aware of China’s tyrannical intentions needs to pay more attention.

“We solemnly inform the US that ‘Taiwan independence’ will only lead to a dead end, and attempts to condone and support ‘Taiwan independence’ are doomed to fail,” Zhao threatened. “Practices that undermine China’s core interests and intervene in China’s domestic affairs will be met with forceful fightback, which will not to the slightest extent impede the historical trend of China’s reunification.”

Zhao’s words were milder than many remarks by more senior officials in the Communist Party during Tsai’s last term. Foreign Minister Wang Yi remarked in January, upon her re-election, that Taiwan’s supporters “will stink for 10,000 years.” In October, dictator Xi warned that anyone supporting Taiwan “will perish, with their bodies smashed and bones ground to powder.”

A female head of state. Isn’t that what the left claims it wants? Well, maybe that’s just a smokescreen for gaining power. President Tsai Ing-Wen is facing a snarling fire breathing dragon at her doorstep. She has handled the virus extremely well and she can handle Xi extremely well. Isn’t it amazing how the MSM completely ignores her?

    Regards,

    Jim

Would you mind sharing the papers backing this?

I think the Wuhan lab is a likely source, but I am not yet sold on it being a bioweapon, much less a deliberate release.  The fusion might not be a bioweapon – I don’t think we should make that accusation easily, especially when China has given us so many reasons to denounce their conduct.  They lied to public health officials, refused to contain the outbreak, and did everything a modern state should not do in response to the crisis.  They deserve the label, thanks to their horrible government.

And I will call it the Wuhan coronavirus outside of very specific scholarly contexts, because SARS-COV-2 is a mouthful to say and invokes confusion with SARS coronavirus.  COVID-19 is quite a bit easier to say, but that’s the disease, not the virus.  Just like how HIV is the virus, AIDS is the disease.
