China Revises Death Figures

Per Worldometer (here) and National Review (here), the ChiComs just updated their death figures for Hubei province (Wuhan’s province). They had previously reported 2,579 deaths in Hubei and increased this figure by 1,290.

This is exactly 50% of the previously reported death total: 2,579 / 2 = 1,289.5, rounded to 1,290.  What a coincidence.

ChiCom delenda est.

Why try to hide that the numbers are fake when everyone not only knows but doesn’t care?

To try and spark more fear and hysteria?

Did they at least try and edit/update the number of cases too? I’d be curious if they did, what number they used to get the additional 1,290 deaths.

Whatever the CCP wants the death total to be, the CCP can make it happen by addition or subtraction.

    Pretty much. On both statements.

Up the numbers in dribs and drabs and see what the lowest number is you can get away with. And they’re only doing this because their original effort to sell the world — or intimidate the world — in to accepting the idea there were no new Wuhan flu cases in Wuhan or anyplace else in China simply became non-operational. Xi and company also reportedly made a promise to stop delaying shipments on already purchased items to  the U.S. and elsewhere, as part of their effort to dig out of the public relations hole they willfully put themselves into.

If they ever admit the real number, it’s probably going to be in the footnotes of a research paper on the outbreak published no earlier than the middle of this decade, and probably not until 2030 or later.

I think they are not bothering with those pesky zeros.

It’s interesting how many phone accounts have vanished.

I think the purpose of the updated death figures is to try to deflect the mounting resentment against them. (People keep thinking the ChiComs are, somehow, responsible for this pandemic.) But who knows what the truth is.

I think the CCP has adopted the New York model, wherein someone who died with COVID-19 attributes but did not necessarily die from COVID-19 is counted in the new tally. In New York, if you died of a heart attack but tested positive for coronavirus, you died of coronavirus. In China, if you were a doctor, administrator, journalist, citizen blogger, etc who was aware of the CCP’s lies and evasions and made a statement to superiors, friends, or social media, and you were subsequently shot or otherwise disappeared, you count in the tally of COVID victims.

Charts with Chinese numbers should have them crossed out. Like a failing 2nd grade math test with no eraser.

I think it was just the opposite, They wanted (want)the numbers to be low.  CCP does not want to look bad.

What? You expected the CCP to be able to count dead bodies? What were the bosy counts from the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution?

This is one of the funniest graphs I’ve ever seen. (apart from the fact that it represents people dying)  From the Worldometers site:

Vertical line at the right is not a graph boundary line.  April 16th looks like a bad day for the ChiComs.  Perhaps because they just paid their taxes?

Man, China’s health care system is almost as great as Cuba’s.

Well, that’s accurate.  They all died because of Covid.

In similar light, we should count all the people dying here due to the incarceration of our population as Wuhan flue victims.

A similar thing happened in Ohio a few days ago.  I was tuning in Governor DeWine’s daily briefing (only because Rush and Prager were doing commercials) and he was making his usual warnings about what might happen if we open things up.  He said very gravely “You all know that we just lost 50 of our citizens over the last 24 hours….” I immediately jumped to attention.  I had been keeping up with the daily death toll in Ohio and knew that on our very worst day we only lost about 16 people to the Wuhan Flu.

I thought something isn’t right here or else Ohio has just lost control of this epidemic.  When I got home and checked the very detailed and excellent Ohio website concerning the Covid Pandemic, it said that exactly five patients had died the previous day, but that the Ohio total had increased by fifty.  The figures over the previous month had been inflated by 45 more deaths, spread out over many different days.

I later found a note on the Worldometers website that credited both New York State and Ohio with following the new  guidelines to include deaths that seemed suspicious of Corona virus, even if no tests were done, and Corona was not originally listed as the cause of death.
