April 2, a Two-Act Briefing: Money, Money, Money, and ICU? I See You.
The April 2 Coronavirus Task Force briefing was even better than April 1. Secretary Mnuchin played Santa Claus, followed by Rear Admiral John Polowczyk (Vanna, can I buy a vowel?) announcing, and demonstrating, complete dominance over the supply and demand for relevant critical medical supplies. He truly knows who has been naughty and nice, and who has been crying wolf on supply shortages. State and local officials would do well to understand what he just announced, and get their acts together if their stuff is not already tightly wrapped. America will win; the Navy has arrived, along with every other military service.
Oh, and it should come as no surprise that reporters are calling for Orange Man Bad to become dictator, to seize and command the means of production. Really. They clearly have not thought through what that would mean if President Trump was then reelected. Thankfully, he continues to praise the American people and their beautiful businesses.
I will post the transcript, highlight and comment, as soon as it posts to whitehouse.gov/news.

I can guarantee you that there are plenty of liberals who are secretly thanking God Trump is in the White House instead of anyone who thinks like they do. November will be a landslide. Thanks for these posts.
Three syllables, three vowels. Keep your money. You don’t need more vowels to complicate things. The cz is pronounced the same as the cz in Czech Republic. Stress is on the next to last syllable, assuming the name is of Polish origin.
There are other things about Polish phonics that are still mysteries to me. It doesn’t help that some Polish speakers let certain initial consonants go silent while others somehow pronounce them.
“How do you spell Wojciehowicz?”
“Just like it sounds!”
Is the media question period at the end, so I can avoid it?
Trump did really well with the media yesterday
As a thought experiment, imagine Obama giving these briefings with his team behind him*. The briefings may take as long, but Obama would probably only get in 2 or 3 rambling answers. There would be no praise for the companies volunteering their services and all solutions would be Federal. There would be no deference to the states.
*On second thought, Obama (I’m a better speech writer than my speech writers…..) would probably have no team behind him.
It is interspersed, as shifts of briefers rotated. And some of the answers are just the most fun.
Seems like he’s doing pretty good asking our corporations to step up to the plate and help, and they are responding in droves. No need to nationalize when you’re a capitalist country with patriotic businesses, large and small . . .
Yes, and he is using the oft invoked national production statute to clear the way for parts supplies to be prioritized to the highest priority products, specifically ventilators.
