Let’s Start Over Again

“Let’s start over again, let’s pretend we just met, but this time you’re going to tell me the truth.” This was a phrase I used when I had heard two different stories from someone on the street who was trying to avoid a trip to booking. Once I heard the second story I knew someone was trying to find one that I would like, and I knew story number three, and four were on the way.

My list of my observations on this current crisis:

I have watched the briefings from the White House and I’m bemused by the questions from some so-called journalists. I liken it to a pack of coyotes fighting over a rabbit. Yipping, barking, and howling. Ben Rhodes from the Obama administration and I don’t agree on much of anything, but we agree on this:

All these newspapers used to have foreign bureaus, he said. Now they don’t. They call us to explain to them what’s happening in Moscow and Cairo. Most of the outlets are reporting on world events from Washington. The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns. That’s a sea change. They literally know nothing.

China has dropped off the coronavirus charts. The list should include China with the tag “unknown” for the number of cases, and the number of fatalities.

Some governors are living the dream, issuing executive orders rather than legislating. Governors and some elected federal officials who have dreamed of controlling what you eat, what you can own (firearms), your transportation, and what type of bag you use to bring home your groceries are in heaven. They haven’t been too concerned about the environmental impact of the homeless. Their discarded needles, urinating, and defecating on sidewalks, or in parks are now public health scolds.

Releasing inmates who have not obeyed the law, but somehow will have an epiphany and will now obey the law to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Those inmates have something in common with the elected officials that release them. They believe in not letting a good crisis be wasted.

No one knew or cared about hydroxychloroquine until Trump said it at a press conference.

Let the record show that iWe was all over it before Trump was. Correlation or Causality?

    definitely causality :-)

Did she look in the mirror before she left home?

When people criticized her wearing this dress, she made a big production out of it, saying that they were rude and sexist. She said that boys had been teasing her about her curves since the 5th grade and her mother always told her to walk proud and ignore them.

My criticism would not be about the dress per se, but the fact that it is very obvious she is not wearing underwear (as in nothing). I wonder what her mother would think about that.

I hope she remembered to pair the victim-me dress with [redact]-me pumps.

I don’t follow political fashion, but isn’t that Monica’s shade of blue?

Four days ago Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan issued a letter that threatened Michigan doctors with “administrative action” if they prescribed hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine for coronavirus flu.

Unlike leftists, to be “fair” to Whitmer, the letter came from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The original purpose was to avoid stockpiling:

The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs has received multiple allegations of Michigan physicians inappropriately prescribing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine to themselves, family, friends, and/or coworkers without a legitimate medical purpose.

Prescribing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine without further proof of efficacy for treating COVID-19 or with the intent to stockpile the drug may create a shortage for patients with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or other ailments for which chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are proven treatments. Reports of this conduct will be evaluated and may be further investigated for administrative action. Prescribing any kind of prescription must also be associated with medical documentation showing proof of the medical necessity and medical condition for which the patient is being treated. Again, these are drugs that have not been proven scientifically or medically to treat COVID-19.

The letter was written by Deb Gagliardi. Unfortunately, she included the bold items instead of realizing that doctors establish the “medical necessity,” not government workers or the leftist press. Why it took a long time to clarify this letter becomes Whitmer’s responsibility.

She was busy riding the Orange Man Bad wave.

    Surf’s up!

Okay, upon closer inspection I think I can see the perky bits.  The navel doesn’t necessarily mean the lack of underwear.  Even with a little paunch belly, she looks fine.

    I suspect causality,  actually.

You can see her “perky bits” are beginning to sag, and her tummy is also beginning to hang out. At her age, I would have been embarrassed to be seen in public like that. But maybe she has been taking belly dancing lessons.

LOL!  My mother took belly dancing once, even bought the outfit.  One of the most embarrassing moments of my life was when all my friends came by the house, then my mother showed up all decked out in her gear, dancing and clapping her finger cymbals.  To this day my friends still make jokes about it . . .

I had a friend who tried to talk me into taking lessons. I laughed at her, no way I say! I was proud of my slim, trim, body. Of course, age will change your mind for you.
