The First Virtual GLoP Night Owl Is Here!
For years, the men of the mighty GLoP podcast (that’s Jonah Goldberg, Rob LOng, and John Podhoretz) provided entertainment on National Review cruises. For obvious (and some less obvious) reasons, those days are over for the foreseeable future. Or, at least, we thought they were. Now, through the magic of Zoom, we are happy to present the first Virtual GLoP Night Owl! Please join us this Saturday, March 28th at 4:30PM PT/5:30 PM MT/6:30PM CT/7:30PM ET for an hour of levity, juvenile humor, Rank Punditry®, and show biz anecdotes. And fair warning: there will be drinking, so please BYOB (or scotch, bourbon, tequila, etc).
But here’s the catch (there’s always a catch): you must be a Ricochet member, a Dispatch member, or a Commentary subscriber to get the secret link for the Night Owl (Ricochet members, click here). Not a Ricochet member? Do yourself a solid and click here and become a member. And we’ll see you on Saturday night!

This sounds quite interesting and entertaining. Thanks.
I’m busy going for an oil change that day.
Synthetic or real? I prefer the synthetic, actually.
I’m going to be doing our taxes on Saturday, and I can use this as a deadline by which to finish. I plan to call in.
Why did you omit Mountain time, the best time zone? It’s at 5:30 natch.
Poor mountain timers. We are always the odd one out.
How did you bribe Rob to do another Zoom?
Or did you threaten him somehow?
Fixed. And I alway just assume that MTers are smart enough to figure out what time things occur. They don’t need it spelled out for them — unlike some other times zones….
That’s what I tell myself when we’re always left off an announcement. I can add or subtract one hour from Pacific or Central.
Did Tom Friedman, during his China-for-a-day thought experiment, call for one time zone as China does? Of course theirs is picked based on Peking’s schedule, so everyone here would get Eastern time.
Well crap! I saw the name Night Owl and didn’t expect it to take place in early evening! Serves me right for not paying close attention to the time and I missed out. :(
I’d like John Podhoretz to hold me like he once did under the moons of
Naboo SyriaMars Attacks.
