I Suspect These 2 Events May Be Related…

On her way to Walmart this morning, my wife heard on the radio that stores around the country had sold out of Purell hand sanitizer, but that you could buy it online for $149 per bottle. Once she arrived at Walmart, she bought two bars of soap for 59 cents each. There was no apparent depletion of the stock available in the soap aisle.

On Super Tuesday, Democrat voters seemed to pivot away from a left-wing 78-year-old white male lifetime politician who wavers between slightly incoherent and moderately odd, and instead selected a left-wing 77-year-old white male lifetime politician who wavers between slightly incoherent and moderately odd.

I suspect that these two events may be related. What do you think?

It seems about half the Democrats prefer an incompetent incoherent who will build the central government and weaken federalism, to a  left wing incompetent who will weaken federalism and build the central government.  Tough choice.

What are the two related events?  Your wife bought a bar of soap and Joe Biden has dementia?  I think it is probably a coincidence.

Bernie isn’t just “moderately odd.” Bernie failed to notice what happened from 1989 through 1991.

About half the voters in the United States are probably ok with voting for one of these two guys right now. So, there is that.

I still maintain that anyone who considered himself a socialist as of January 1, 1992 is insufficiently observant for much of anything.

That’s fair.  Although I would say that about 1945.  At the latest.

There were a lot of passably intelligent people in the States who still bought the party line until Khrushchev’s “secret” (thanks, Mossad!) denunciation of Stalin in 1956. You’ll still get people who will stick up for the Soviet Union based on the 20,000,000 Russians who died in World War II. (The response to that being “How many of those 20 million would have lived if the one man Stalin ever trusted in his life hadn’t been Adolf Hitler?”) But 1991 with the failure of the Clown Coup and the collapse of the Soviet Union meant that socialism wouldn’t work even if you turned the power up to eleven. Tested to destruction, as we’d say in the lab. Before that, you were stubborn. After that, you are stupid.

I just now checked my profile. To my great surprise, it doesn’t say, “Everything is connected to everything.”

So maybe they aren’t related, after all.

Ick. Dove Soap. Today and always.

(these soaps dry me out like I’m in a desert)

However, white ivory is best for mouth washing.

I still can’t believe they turned down Roma Downey for the Irish Spring commercial because she wasn’t “Irish enough” . . .

I think the Biden vote was a Covid-19 vote. I think people are nervous, and they want someone they like to deliver the daily bad news. People are seeking calm. I think that’s why GW did so well in his reelection bid–it was the war on terror. At that time, enthusiasm for him as a president was really low.  (I liked and admired–and I still do–GW very much, but most of the Republicans I knew really disliked him.) But we were in the middle of something, and people voted to “stay the course.” Old familiar Biden feels like a stay-the-course-vote. I think the fear of the unknown Covid-19 drove Biden’s win. The Democrats themselves do not like the other candidates. But they actually like Biden. I think that’s why he won the primary.

He’s the perfect guy to talk about vaccinating children. “Hold still, this won’t hurt a bit.”

I used Irish Spring for years, although only the original green: once when the store I went to was sold out, I tried the blue, and it caused allergy problems.  But in later years with drier skin, and a drier climate too, I started using Dove Men Care body wash, great stuff!

Soap, water, and the alphabet song. For all the fake teaching given our younger generations, they have been taught two basic public health truths: cough and sneeze into your elbow, not your hands, and sing the alphabet song while rubbing your hands together with soap and water.

40 seconds, from A through the end of the refrain.
