ABC News Suspends Leftist Reporter who Dislikes Trump

This is not a Babylon Bee article, but it reads like satire. Veteran ABC reporter David Wright described himself as a socialist. Displaying his mastery of language and subtlety that one might expect from someone who earns their living in the world of information, he also called President Trump an expletive. Displaying his innate understanding of economic theory and property rights, he said that there are too many billionaires. He also, as best I could tell, criticized ABC’s news coverage as being too complimentary of President Trump. (Yeah, well, obviously…)

ABC News responded by suspending him. Some might suggest that the reason he got in trouble was that he was recorded saying these things by Project Veritas. But ABC News records him saying these things on their news program every day. So, what changed? Again, ABC News suspended a leftist reporter who dislikes President Trump. Holy Toledo. Suppose that was their company policy. Who on earth would report the news at ABC? There’d be no one left. Why did they suspend this guy?

Again, I’m nearly certain that this is not a spoof. So, what do you think? Why would ABC News suspend a leftist reporter who dislikes President Trump?

Remember, the Democrats are secretly planning to get rid of Sanders, somehow. They want someone more middle-of-the-road. And the media is telling the Democrats what to do. So if they have a silly reporter who sounds blatantly like Sanders, the guy has got to go! Plus it’s just a suspension, so he’ll probably be back.

He was a sacrificial lamb. The Ministry of Information decided he went too far outside the acceptable (publicly opining) parameters. Now, why Jim Acosta still has a microphone, I have no idea…??

Wright was suspended because he also admitted that Trump should sometimes get “credit for what things he does do”.    Such an admission is a sign of weakness and cannot be tolerated.

I suspect the media is setting the stage for Bernie. They will have to make the case hard and often that Bernie’s brand of socialism isn’t real socialism, and they can’t do that against the background of their own people outing themselves as real socialists.

I think the issue for ABC (Disney) is that Wright was critical of their news organization.  ABC News blends news with promotion of Disney entertainment products, according to Wright.   Wright also decried the superficiality of White House coverage.

“I don’t think we’re terribly interested in voters,” he said.

Why would ABC News suspend a leftist reporter who dislikes President Trump?

For making their bias too obvious ( or has that horse already left the barn)?

The first rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club. While the networks over the past 20 years have really attempted to tighten down their focus to try and retain viewers by making themselves into niche news divisions that cater to a progressive urban demographic (with Fox going the other way), you’re not supposed to tell the world those are your beliefs, because the networks still want to put up the front that their news programming is trying to be non-partisan and appeal to everyone.

The other thing is Wright revealing his animus towards the slant of ABC News, but doing it from the left instead of the right. As a likely Sanders supporter, he probably has his justification, based on ABC and its featured news person, George Stephanoplous, being tied to Hillary and the crony capitalist wing of the Democratic Party. Wright’s seeing the bias as being from ABC supporting maintaining that status quo — where he goes off the rails is in thinking apparently that their bias towards the Hillary wing means they’re also somehow being too nice to Trump.

“Too many billionaires” is a weird complaint. So there should be fewer? I thought the problem was too much wealth in the hands of the few.

Well, if the news departments across the industry were honest, they would suspend 90% of their team.  They are almost all biased.  OK, FoxNews might have to suspend only 60%.  They have a few less that are unbiased.

These people have a knack for overestimating their ability to estimate appropriate figures; doesn’t matter much whether it’s the temperature on a given day, the number of people on the planet, or the percentage of “minorities” who should be winning coveted awards.

Knowing a fact and then surmising a profound conclusions from it is kinda their thing.

I do not care if a reporter is a socialist, I just want the news organization to stop with the claims that they are an unbiased news organization.  (Esp ABC news who chief political reporter is a former Clinton flack). I wish they will be more like the British press – you know what you are getting with the Guardian and the Telegraph
