My dad would agree, his father would agree, his father would agree. Probably all the way back to the battle of Culloden. Actually, all the way back to Caesar’s Gallic Wars. A great video, Boss.

Thanks for posting. Nobody on Ricochet can make a reader laugh like Boss Mongo. Nobody can make you cry like Boss Mongo.

And nobody can make you run miles in full battle gear with your #$%^&* rifle held over your head like he can either.

    “Let’s go write another song.”

Somebody once asked me if I cried watching Spielberg’s Schindler’s List. I said, “Are you kidding? I even cried during Spielberg’s An American Tail.”

    Yes.

I actually researched joining a Guard or Reserve unit, just because (can’t believe) I miss that schtuff.

    DoD be like, “Yeah. No.”

Apparently once you retire, you’re done. D-U-N. Dun.

Just finished showing the vid in the OP with eldest daughter (kid 2 of 4). It reminded her of growing up with a plethora of uncles. The line about bad ankles, knees and destroyed back, waiting in line at the VA had her laughing and punching my shoulder.

Get use to it Boss, it comes from falling testosterone levels as we age out. Stuff that would even get a huh whats the big deal out of me now has me doing sentimental brain searches….. kind of like you pinning for the crappy food, laying in the dirt while freezing (or sweating) your buns off that this ballet is bring to the fore.

Y’all ought to read some of the reviews on Mat Best’s book, Thank You For My Service.

Hilarious. I think I found my next read.

I love Mat Best’s stuff. My favorite line from an amputee: “The Air Force offered me Para Rescue but the Rangers offer me Paralympics. Rangers!”
