More shallow reporting from CNN.  No word on what flavor?

I guess we could call this a literal scoop, however.

Journalism alive and well…..saw that tweet as well.  Check out Charlie Cooke’s piece on NRO ripping CNN.

Henry Racette: Meanwhile, we still don’t know what President Obama was enjoying for dinner as our Ambassador and aides died in Benghazi.

Trick question.  Obama had time for 3 meals.

I see a trend.  If memory serves, Trump was eating with Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping at Trump’s home of Mar-a-Lago when Syria was bombed for their use of chemical weapons.   A coincidence?  I don’t think so.

Apparently Trump was eating with Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy at the time.  I am not sure of the link between Kevin McCarthy and Xi Jinging; perhaps someone else would be able to connect the dots.  https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/03/donald-trump-iran-soleimani-093371

How about “snacked” or, if you must, “supped”? Either would be more accurate than “dined”.

Forget the champagne, I want to see photos of him and his guests coloring pictures of [Muhammad] on their paper place-settings while snacking on the ice-cream.  Let the idiot party draft up another irrelevant Article of Impeachment over that.

I’m sure that we do, because President Obama promised us that we would know everything as soon as he knew everything. And I’m sure that, by now, we must know everything.

No, I have no clue where he was, or what he was doing.

Nor, most critically, what he was eating.

I approve of your choice.  I saw the change to a lengthier title and thought somebody had convinced you to make it boring.

It’s intended to show him as juvenile and indifferent to suffering. As a detail in a long story, it’s interesting; tweeted out as an IMPORTANT THING it’s more revelatory about whoever runs the CNN Twitter feed.

I’m sure that’s exactly the point. And, to be honest, I have to admit that I did something similar when I picked on President Obama’s frequent golf excursions as a sign of his unseriousness — though eating ice cream doesn’t seem quite the dereliction of duty that a day on the links represented.

I would have liked President Obama more if he had taken a lot of long naps, like President Reagan did.  But a problem is that he had more people to do bad things while he was asleep than Reagan did.

Golly! Do you think a president is unable to order a drone strike WHILE eating ice cream?

Or do you think is aides would hesitate to inform Trump of the embassy attack until after he’d finished his ice cream? And how long would that take? Hours? Days?

That’s a weird edit, because you’re not comparing the eras. I thought it was only the headline writers of the MSM who didn’t feel a need to make the headlines align with the articles.

I think the change undermines my attempt at dry humor. But management was actually gracious enough to send me an email (probably because I kept undoing their change of my title ;) ), explaining their rationale. Basically, they think the page will be indexed better by the search engines if the title is more descriptive, and that it will be more eye-catching for human readers as well. (I think our friend @garyrobbins agrees on that last point as well.)

They’re probably right, and, particularly after I’ve been so fussy about them doing things that I think would help pump up the Ricochet brand, picking on them for trying to do just that would be silly. Now if they’ll just give us those hit counts….

    ;)
