Democrat Debate vs. SNL
You don’t have to watch the Democratic debate, here:
When you can watch the SNL version, here:
(I’ll point out that right now, the actual debate received 584,514 views over three days, while the SNL parody received 3,687,415 views over about 24 hours.)

I gotta say, SNL has been killing it with these debate parodies. The actual debates, not so much.
Real or parody? Joe Biden: “I’m only one second away from calling Corey Booker Barak”
The SNL version is certainly pithier and makes me want to vote for Tulsi Gabbard.
My main surprise is it’s Monday morning and the Washington Post or CNN hasn’t fact-checked the skit yet.
This is all anyone needs to know . . .
Off point, but I’m reminded of my gratitude that the DNC didn’t go for a gaudy background for their debate. It was nice to have such a simple, calming setting for the program.
I think it’s delightful to see some of the familiar faces they brought in to do this – Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolf, Will Ferrell, Fred Armisen, Larry David, and Woody Harrelson. They did such a great job.
I was surprised that Will Ferrell didn’t get a bigger hand when he first spoke, but perhaps he did when he first came out?
It does show that SNL can still muster up the strength to really lampoon Democrats, if they want to (though I’m not sure here if the pretty rough treatment they gave the candidates in the skit was because they’re really, really annoyed that all of them look so weak right now. Frustration can bring out some pretty good comedy, though too much anger leads you into some of the ‘clapplause’ stuff the weakest of SNL’s Trump skits have suffered under the past four years).
The SNL parody of the “equality” town hall was excellent.
Not bad! I love seeing Will Ferrell & Woody Harrelson. But my hero is Chris on the Daily Show , thanks Don.
It was a nice touch that they included the American flag in the background.
