Are They Going to Kavanaugh Trump?

When Justice Kavanaugh was nominated for the US Supreme Court, one woman came out to lie about him, and then when her story was publicized, seemingly scores of accusers came out of the woodwork to make increasingly absurd accusations. Kavanaugh has been forever tainted this way and the Democrats learned how to “put an asterisk” on a justice.

Now comes word that scores of accusers are ready to testify that Trump is using his office to enrich his businesses. Since the House is treating the impeachment like a star chamber, these accusers won’t even be cross-examined. It won’t matter if they are lying because even if they are, how will Trump be able to take action against so many liars without looking bad? Every accuser that has their lies exposed will be replaced by another ten who will make even greater lies.

Yesterday Trump mocked Pelosi as a third-rate politician. So was Josef Stalin. Neither he nor she practices politics; what they do is something other than politics. The scale of perfidy to our nation is profound.

My large negative fantasy is that the Republican office holders revert to form and get convinced by the media that they need to remove Trump thus guaranteeing the Democrats the House, Senate, and Presidency in 2020.    There is a reason and a track record that causes the Republicans to be called the stupid party.

They’ve been trying to Bork/Thomas/Kavannaugh everyone they think has what they imagine the Constitution allows to become dictatorial, like judges, the presidency, because that is how they use those offices.  It’s ok when their guy does something outside the authority of the Constitution, but not when ours might.

They don’t have anything else. Take away “Orange Man Bad” and all they’re left with is an extreme leftist agenda that doesn’t play in Peoria. But “Orange Man Bad” can even get some stupid Republicans on board.

“…good that he was forced out” doesn’t mean they thought he was guilty. One could read that as they were glad the country was no longer going through the whole Watergate/impeachment crisis and could return to normal times.

Do you mean to say that your family members later thought Nixon was guilty? If they did, you should say so.

There is a reason and a track record that causes the Republicans to be called the stupid party.

This is why cynics, myself included, refer to our two party system as “One Big Money Party.”

A few days before the 2016 election, a morning panel on Fox Cable were expressing their views that neither Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton were qualified to hold the office of  US President.

This puzzled me extremely. I tuned in a day later, and lo and behold! The same group of Fox Talking Heads now approved of Hillary Clinton.

As I sat wondering why the initial rejections of both candidates had occurred, and now the harsh embargo of Hillary was being rejected, one Talking Head piped up, “Yesterday, her people contacted us to  explain that she is not opposed to the Trans Pacific Plan.” (I am paraphrasing, since it has been almost 3 years since the show aired, but her acceptance of the TPP was the deciding factor in their accepting her.)

Had Donald Trump not remained true to his pledge to get us out of the Middle East conundrum of endless wars that utilize the US treasury of our money &  blood of our service people, he would not be in the conundrum he now faces.

The top One Percent hate this man with a passion. He is no friend to the insanity of staying in Syria, or staying in Afghanistan. His choice of General Michael Flynn to serve as his National Security adviser proved his commitment to a different strategy regarding endless, for profit wars.

Unlike Barack Obama, who delivered an extremely populist message while campaigning in WI in Oct 2008, but who then appointed Big Banking’s best friend, Tim Geithner, immediately after being elected, Trump continues to deride the Fed Reserve.

He has reframed or is attempting to reframe America’s trade agreements. His re-negotiating our deals with China have already netted the US trade deficit a half billion dollars to our advantage.

Congress should be currently involved in approval of the US/Mexico/Canada trade deal. This deal has already been approved by Canada’s Parliament, and its prime minister, and by the Mexican government as well. But Congress doesn’t want this re-negotiated.

Basically for whatever reason, Trump wants to stand with our nation & do things that are an advantage to our nation. While our Big Monied crowd wants only what is good at the moment for itself. (And to hell with our children & grandchildren’s future.) The fact that leadership in both parties wants endless wars, so campaign contributions will continue to flow from the Defense Industry to war mongering Dems and “R”‘s, as well as trade deals that help only themselves, matters not at all.

Nonsense. Nixon twice failed to fight back against Democrats’ subversion of our constitutional republic, first in 1960, when the presidential election was obviously rigged with old fashioned ballot box stuffing, then in 1972-4 when he failed to effectively fight back against corrupt government insiders and judges.

Historically it happened in the House first, then the Senate would examine it independently.  There’s no reason the House has to allow cross-examination though.  Any cross examination would be done by the opposition, rather than the President’s lawyers, though.

The Chief Justice sits in as the judge.  Rehnquist found it distasteful and took almost no part in it when Clinton was being tried.  I think a Chief Justice made of sterner stuff would be more active.  Roberts is a pansy and will likely follow Rehnquist’s roll-over style.

Yes.  Nixon believed that the country would be injured, perhaps irreparably, by ugly battles over election tampering in 1960, and an impeachment trial in the 70s.

You can be certain of this because I was 24 in 1960 and 38 in ’74.

Where did you get the idea that we were fighting “for profit” wars?  Every single time we get into a new war, the administration  has to grovel in front of Congress in order to approve more government spending to fund our latest adventure, and they have to renew the process every year as long as we are involved.  One of the biggest complaints from the left is that these military actions are draining our budget.

Basically for whatever reason, Trump wants to stand with our nation & do things that are an advantage to our nation. While our Big Monied crowd wants only what is good at the moment for itself. (And to hell with our children & grandchildren’s future.) …

I like Trump, but as far as the “Big Monied Crowd” goes, he is no different when it comes to spending  our grandchildren’s inheritance.  Trump  has never been an advocate of cutting our enormous government spending or balancing the budget.  This  is the epitome of “wanting what is good  at the moment,” as opposed to providing a fiscally stable future for our grandchildren.
