Military Revises Physical Standards
Washington DC – General Messalina “Mitzi” Marshall, the first female and transgender Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, announced Monday that there would no longer be separate physical tests and standards for male and female recruits.
Speaking from her office in the Pentagon, General Marshall said “Frankly, since late last year, we have seen outstanding young women who are every bit as tough and strong as their male counterparts. Since these women are just as good as men, there is no reason to continue the misguided, sexist, and frankly illegal discrimination . . .”

US Women’s Team to World Cup Finals
Barcelona, Spain – The US Women’s Soccer team is again in finals for the FIFA World Cup after eliminating China 17-1 in the semis.
Since most readers only pay attention to women’s soccer for a few days every four years, this entire report will mostly be a recap of the things real football fans already know.
The big story is that the players are all members of the high school club team that beat the previous World Cup team in a practice match in April of 2017 . . .

Yup. About right.
Is that about when the Supreme Court is likely to give a decision? I know they are hearing the case this month.
Yeah, they always issue rulings the following June.
I guess my old buddy Tom will remain is suspense for another eight months.
I read the other day that Bruce Jenner is fighting to have the record books rewritten to state that those decathletes were beaten by a chick, and is fighting Wheaties to state that He was the first female on the box.
Someone needs to alert Hilary: There has already been a female president.
It seems fair to mention that the game lost to U-15 boys in Dallas wasn’t actually a game but an informal practice scrimmage. Since the women’s squad would soon be playing against Russia, they probably didn’t play the boys as if it was a real contest.
Having said that, the question isn’t whether a professional women’s team could’ve won against a young high school boy’s team—they probably could, with a bit more effort—but whether the U-15 girl’s team would’ve had a prayer of getting a point (unaided by chivalry) off the U.S. men’s team.
This is a ridiculous question, of course. Which is sort of the point.
Cousin Edith? James Buchanan? Which one?
The term runs from October to June. They do not wait until June before issuing opinions. Occasionally, they release their first opinion in October; usually in November. I don’t believe that there is any set time period between oral argument and release of the opinion, so a case argued in October might not be decided until June, but I would expect something closer to a 2-3 month delay.
I think that trans athletes at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics might well have a serious effect on the election.
The Olympics will run from late July through early August. I expect that we are going to witness the spectacle of a number of men on the gold medal stand in “women’s” events. I think that NBC will take an entirely pro-trans attitude. I think that people are going to be outraged and disgusted, and that this will affect their voting.
I’m sure Tom figures after six years, the sooner the better to hear it. I hope enough of them know how to read.
