Scott Adams Makes the Case for ‘President for Life’ Trump

No, Scott Adams is not suggesting that Trump be president for life. But Scott is making the case for Trump being the last legitimate president. Hence (my conclusion), if we want our president to be legitimate then we should want Trump to be president for life. And given his age that would not be an oppressively long time.

So what is Scott talking about?! He referenced the other day a tweet from the person Scott thinks is the “smartest man he has ever met” — Naval Ravikant:

NavalSep 19

Does it bother anyone else that our elected officials live in a panopticon run by our intelligence agencies?

A panopticon is like a one-way mirror where a person can see everything without being seen. In other words, if you assume that our intelligence service has technological access to conversations, emails, texts by accessing both public networks and “things” owned by elected officials that are connected to the internet, then our intelligence apparatus is in an enormously powerful position vis a vis elected officials. That is, bureaucrats have something on officials that can be used as leverage to override the desires and preferences of constituencies. This delegitimizes the elected politician as acting in the constituents’ interest rather than that of the intelligence community. Earlier Senator Schumer said much the same thing: “Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”

Now, according to Scott, Trump is the only elected politician who can resist the threats of the intelligence agencies because his flaws are well-known and flagrant, thus he has the least risk of losing political power from anything the intelligence officials could leak and would be believed. (At this point most voters don’t think or will ever be made to think that Trump is a traitor, intentionally working against the interests of the United States. Nor do they think that he is engaged in any “abuse of power” that is over the line for a president.) This makes him more legitimate as a political leader — from a constituency standpoint — than anyone who could be elected.

So why wouldn’t you want Trump to be president for life?

Basically we are entering the age of President J. Edgar Hoover. Create a nexus of the Intelligence Director and the directors of the FBI and CIA and elections mean nothing.

We tore down the wall between the domestic and foreign intelligence services after 9/11 because nobody connected the dots. It seemed like a good idea at the time but we may yet regret it.

I’d be happy if he could just cut down the federal government enough in the next five years so that the next PotUS isn’t in the panopticon. The original panopticon was a prison, by the way.

And this is why Trump uses Giuliani as an alternate channel to the State Dept. and Intel. Comm. When the NSA uses cancel culture against elected people, we are in trouble. Note, some people (mostly Leftists) like a world where secret party officials run everything. It is just a handful of people on the Right that truly despise tyranny.

This has been going on for decades, maybe longer. It’s just worse now.

I encourage everyone to revisit the early years of the Clinton Dynasty and how it was built.

But first, understand this: Everyone with any power in government must have a high security clearance. The FBI is tasked with interviewing everyone you ever knew, check arrest records (even the juvenile records) and investigate your entire family.

There are things in everyone’s life we want to protect. Even if you are squeaky-clean, maybe you have a teenage daughter who had a secret child, or maybe those adoption papers weren’t perfect, or the agency is sketchy and your kids could be taken away.

Hillary Clinton decided to get as much dirt on everyone she could and it became a machine. Larry Craig was caught with FBI vetting files on hundreds of people for which he had no authorization. They hired private investigators. Look at what happened to the Republicans who voted for impeachment. They are all either washed up or compromised. Denny Hastert recently was discovered to be paying out large sums to an ex-student of his he had a prurient underaged relationship with. The deep state and the Clintons were too dumb to get that info? Hastert was responsible for several major sell-outs. I wonder why….

The Obama administration weaponized intel agencies against their adversaries , and the biggest one became Trump.

But what gets me is these people and almost everyone working in powerful positions in government seem to experience zero negative consequences for incompetence, malfeasance, or even traitorous behavior.

I think almost everyone who is part of the New Left wants Trump to be President for Life.

In the same way that JFK was that.

Although I agree wholeheartedly with your statements, there is this to consider:

Most rank and file Leftists have no idea that secret party officials desire complete control over our society. After all, they really think a Bernie Sanders or Liz Warren Presidency, along with complete Dem Party control over the Congress critters, would bring us a True Utopia here on earth.

The few progressives I still talk to can’t understand why my household would not support student loan forgiveness and Universal Single Payer Health Care, paid for by the Progressive Program Fairies.

Then I have to carefully explain I like those ideals in theory. Except I remember far too well the Gulag that was created when so many in Russia decided to overthrow their system for Utopia.

The police force for the police state is in place.

We need to run these buzzards off of the continent.

Other than maybe a tutu, what’s the difference between Comey and Hoover?

Many, many years ago I was teaching a night course in American Literature at my community college and had as a student a State Representative, a fine man. Tom was confined to a wheelchair and earned his A and went on to become a State Senator. It was a three hour class. I would usually wait and chat with him while we waited for his chair car and driver.

One night, a young woman from out of state lingered. Somehow the Brothers Bulger got mentioned. She looked blank. I explained that here was a story of two brothers “from the projects,” one of whom became a notorious gangster and the other a Latin scholar and Speaker of the House, a most powerful position. “A classic tale of two brothers: the good one and the bad one,” I said. I saw Tom frown. “What, am I wrong about Billy?” I asked.

Tom explained that a few years before, Billy had been third in line for the speakership, “And when you are third you might as well be a thousand away.” But the two rivals were cleared away, in both cases by the FBI. Tom left no doubt about his insider viewpoint. Years later I learned about the fine job the FBI did protecting Whitey.

But this latest stuff is wilder because it is in the open. I have to hope that when Americans see a circus trial, they are repulsed. If not, “bona sera America.”

I’m more and more worried that Trump WILL be President for Life.

    In the bad, short-term way.

I am amazed they have not killed him yet. If he dodges this impeachment and gets elected I doubt he will see the end of his term.
