Gratitude

There is so much good in the world, we just need to look harder to find it. It’s there. It’s also important to celebrate the small victories. This quote defines how I feel:

“While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice, and friends who help.

“We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues.” – Thomas S. Monson

Gratitude lets us help other people because it lets us see how to advance our fellow man.

This quote resonates with me right now, because next month I’m to speak at a Junior League luncheon whose theme is how to thrive through each stage of life, and counting your blessings is a part of it. Even if some days you wake up and the best thing you can think of is “Welp, at least I don’t have leprosy,” hey that’s something!

@shaunahunt, you must not watch a lot of TV News.  If you did, then you would know that murder and wars are rampant, crime is spiraling out of control, we live in the most racist country on Earth where children are suffering from hunger and nobody can find jobs, but it doesn’t matter because we are all going to die from Global Warming.

For what could you possibly be grateful?  (just a little screaming sarcasm, folks!)

I already died from tax cuts, net neutrality, etc! All of us are just riding the storm out. ;)
