Male, Pale, and Stale

Tucker Carlson just spoke a great line: (not a transcript) “Joe Biden cannot win the nomination of today’s Democratic Party because to the modern Democratic party he is too male, too pale, and too stale.”

But he is the best they got.

given the New York’s time new direction, it looks like the Democrats are going to embrace the Obama “the US is racist unless you vote for me” campaign strategy.  That is going to require a Black nominee.  Those candidates without a credible black bloodline should step away before they are broken by the powers that be.

How is that gonna play out with all the white Democrats? I imagine they would resent being called racist and be less enthusiastic to volunteer for the Democrats.

Oddly for Democrats it does not work that way.  The have accepted that they are racist and are doing the best they can to atone for their ancestors/ country’s sins.  If that requires more tax, a black vote or displacement from their job, home, career, school, that is part of the atonement.  Blacks and other minorities deserve to be in charge because of the past.  They are just better people than all whites, especially non left ones.  I am not sure they believe that in their heart but will act that way so their crowd will see.

I would differ a little with you on that: I don’t believe the Leftists see themselves as racist — they see everyone else as racist. They are all the good guys, trying to right the wrongs the rest of us have done.

You need to listen to them more.  EVERYTHING is racist, every action, every fact.  Science is racist, environment is racist.  They recognize they have racist tendencies and their every action is to negate, atone for those tendencies.  Those of us that do not follow their belief are Nazis because we are unrepentant racist in their eyes.

The  Democrats were racist and probably still are and since they also know they are morally superior, those they disagree with must be really actively racist.   It’s amazing to see just how easy it has become  to make folks adopt group think.   I think this is new, at least the extent of it.  I’d guess much of  it has to do with the power we’ve given Washington, especially the extensive multi powered bureaucracy.    The folks are remote and un aware of how Washington works and the Washington bureaucracy cannot know 50 states and thousands of cities to any extent.  They care.  They’re rational but real knowledge is impossible so they make it up; they’re  good stories and many of the folks go along.

To me, Biden is a real danger as a candidate.  He appears to be safe, but has proven he will do the bidding of whoever is throwing leftist criticism his way.  Put another way, his position on issues changes faster than his Depends . . .

Raise a toast to Biden’s candidacy with Olde Frothingslosh. (The pale, stale ale with the foam on the bottom, for non-yinzers)

Considering that white men can’t jump, he may be right.

I find myself conflicted over which Democrat I want to see nominated, but contrary to a lot of polls and opinion, I think Biden will do worse than Warren or any other. He will be unable to generate enthusiasm and in trying to do so will continue to make unforced errors. The white working class is mostly with Trump, women will be tepid, blacks and minorities never took him seriously and he has a spotty record.

Further, the Progressives will go completely nuts if he’s the nominee. (I don’t know if that’s ultimately a good result long-term.)

And Biden choosing a woman of color as his running mate will be weak sauce and look patronizing. We’ve had the black President and the female nominee, so it’s not novel, it will just look bad. Biden will try to defer, but that will just make him look all the weaker.

Biden’s campaign has released his new campaign song. It’s perfect! Upbeat, cheery, reflecting Joe’s glad-handing optimistic attitude.
