Planned Parenthood President Terminated

Yesterday came the news that the President of Planned Parenthood, Dr. Leana Wen, was terminated after secret, closed-door conversations about the future of the organization, and how Wen’s perspective and advocacy factored into that vision:

As the day wore on, more information leaked out, some of it incredibly interesting, providing a window into the issues Democrats are going to have leading up to 2020:

This is the problem for Democrats: they are bending to the will of their extreme progressive wing, cutting off their noses to spite their face. Yesterday Commentary’s Noah Rothman was the target of ire from what he calls the “Twitter Left” for dismissing their importance during an appearance on MSNBC:

Dr. Wen is correct that using “trans-inclusive” language isn’t a priority for many women, especially in discussion of women’s health. Unfortunately for liberals like Scott, most Americans don’t inhabit the extreme left, where using “trans-inclusive” language is more important than acknowledging biology during medical conversations. On the issue of where Planned Parenthood’s focus should  be, Dr. Wen is also correct that the entire focus of the organization shouldn’t just be lobbying for the most extreme abortion laws possible, but instead, on actual reproductive health issues women have, like having pap smears and obtaining birth control.

Instead of heeding the sound advice of their former President, Planned Parenthood’s board went another way, swinging hard to the Left in the process. And during the primaries, we’ve been seeing candidates for the Democratic nomination doing the same. They have chosen to pander to a louder group without understanding how vanishingly small they are, and how unrepresentative their views are as well. Democrats should acknowledge the reality of their electorate and what they desire before the post-mortems begin rolling in after President Trump is reelected.

Wouldn’t be the first time Planned Parenthood got rid of an Asian female for the sake of convenience and image.

This is sort of like the fights and disagreement facist and communist had back in the day. They were both were still mass murdering psychopaths with only minor disagreements that they blew out of proportion all just so their pure view could be the only one in power. Psychopath are against any compromise.

I remember way back, like in May, when people used to talk about abortion as being “a woman’s right to choose.” Now, of course, we have evolved and need to admit that men can have abortions the same as women and if you don’t agree with that then you are just not woke enough to lead a baby killing business?

    Bethany,

The left long-ago had moved away from results-based policy but now has been rapidly moving away from reality itself. Dr. Wen, M.D., undoubtedly, couldn’t stand that level of absurdity. She might even balk at postnatal abortion. The only way she could express her concerns to the ideologue leadership of Planned Parenthood is to let them know that their views might “isolate people in the mid-West”.

The left’s actual position is increasingly looking like mental illness and not a political opinion of any kind. It’s an old adage that in an insane world the sane man must appear insane. Dr. Wen was just too sane for Planned Parenthood.

    Regards,

    Jim

I disagree. They should be very, very honest with voters about the party’s opposition to things like facts, common sense, human rights, etc.

I have a lot of sympathy for the trans movement. I’ve recently figured out I’m a trans-financial. I’m a billionaire stuck in a middle class body – I want some government relief now!
