Technical Update
Many of you will have noticed that the site has been acting oddly since Friday. We’ve been having problems with our server configuration and unfortunately there has been some down time when the site was unavailable. I’m working on it and I apologize for the inconvenience.
How is this possible?
Is “server” racist or at least “problematic?”
Would you prefer to call it “Abdul?”
I didn’t look at the site all weekend. Is that the problem?

Ours is back ordered. :-(
Thanks for the update. I’ve been trying to post this comment for about ten minutes . . . .
NO apologies needed, Max. This is a remarkably stable site. You do a great job!
Have you tried turning off and back on again?! ;-)
Or on and back off again?
Or clearing the cache?
<mildly amusing comment betraying breathtaking technical ignorance>
Stable site from a remarkably stable genius.
You must mean Peter. (Couldn’t be Rob. Genius? Okay.)
@arahant I’m not sure I’d ask any of our founders to “code.”
You’re lucky you don’t work for Trump. ;)
I have every confidence in you, Max.
Here’s what I do when I’m trying to get some computer system to work properly: I whisper to it, “Make Daddy proud.”
“You have no idea.” – Skynet
But would you ask Trump to code?
Thanks for the update. I was beginning to think it was my computer.
I think I’ve worked it out. Let’s see how it goes tomorrow and then I’ll tell you what happened.
Okay, it’s now tomorrow. We’re waiting . . .
Seems to be working now (8:30AM ET). For the last 1/2 hour, I’d been getting “server down” messages. Fingers crossed.
:-/
It’s now 7:15 on Tuesday morning. I can get on Ricochet but it’s glacially slow. I click a button and wait for, oh, a minute before anything happens.
Believe me, I’m painfully aware.
It’s the PIT. It’s always the PIT.
😳You might actually be right.
They probably have over-torqued the swear valve demodulation circuit again.
