Uncommon Knowledge: Victor Davis Hanson on “The Case For Trump”

How did blue-collar voters connect with a millionaire from Queens in the 2016 election? Martin and Illie Anderson Senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson addresses that question and more in his newly released book, The Case for Trump. I chat with Victor about his motivation to write a book making a rational case for those voters who chose Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, and about Victor himself — his background and life growing up in California’s Central Valley and how different the area feels now compared to when he was younger.

VDH makes great points as usual, but the only motivation you really need to vote against Hillary Clinton is Hillary Clinton herself.

    Peter,

No matter how the grand drama turns out in the end, those of us who just listened to your interview know something. We know that Trump gives a damn about us, VDH gives a damn about us, and Peter Robinson gives a damn about us. Maybe that’s more important than anything else.

Some would say it’s all for nothing. I’m not one of those.

    Regards,

    Jim

There are Republicans that won’t vote against the worse choice. Madness.

Ricochet really is quite a thing, isn’t it? James Lileks and I were just texting about this earlier this week. The breadth of conversations, the general levels of interest and goodwill–James and I do love this site. Without it, we would never have encountered James Gawron or Goldwaterwoman!
