Which World Leaders, Joe?

Biden is claiming world leaders have been urging him to run to save the world.

“I get calls from people all over the world. World leaders are calling me, and they’re almost begging me to do this, to save the country, save the world”

Poor world…. Donald Trump is spoiling everything for them! They were doing great until this America First guy was elected by those pesky American voters.

And let’s not diminish Biden’s understanding of the term “almost begged,” since that’s exactly what preteen daughters of various government appointees were doing when he was invading their space from behind at the swearing-in ceremonies.

But he can’t possibly mean all world leaders. Certainly not Putin. Putin wants Trump to continue as his puppet, and is deathly afraid of Biden, just like he was of Hillary. Assad of Syria probably wants Trump because he doesn’t want to fight American troops (or does he?). So it’s just some world leaders.

But which ones?

Since I doubt he will ‘name names’ so as not to breach confidentiality, I took out my trusty Eight Ball Oracle for assistance.

Who?

Netanyahu? I doubt it.

Xi of China? Maybe.

Abe of Japan? Don’t think so.

Merkel? Probably.

Macron? Definitely.

May? More than maybe.

Putin? Could be.

Kim Jong Un? Reply Hazy Try Again.

Moon of Korea? Not Likely.

The House of Saud? Arabic la’a!

Khameni of Iran? For sure.

Bolsanaro of Brazil? Nope.

Salvini of Italy? Not.

Trudeau of Canada? Probably, he needs saving.

The new guy in Mexico? Concentrate and ask again.

Addendum: We don’t know if world leaders have almost begged other Democratic candidates to run against Trump.

However, anonymous sources have claimed that Kamala Harris has been contacted by leaders in Kenya, Mayor Pete has gotten some overtures from leaders in the Netherlands, Bernie Sanders seems to have the inside track on endorsements from Cuba and Venezuela.

So far, Biden is leading all Democrats with Macron, Trudeau, and Merkel strongly backing him, with other world leaders from countries from which Trump has cut American aid (Nicaragua, Guatemala, et al.), and countries that have a travel ban imposed (Chad, Libya, etc.) most likely to follow.

The world hangs in the balance…

I know a Special Prosecutor who’s looking for work and is guaranteed to take at least a couple of years.

A group of international leaders are proposing a concept they are calling The Global Electoral College. Each country is given a number of electors based on population and economic GDP.

Heads of State will then pledge their electoral votes to the US Presidential candidate of his/her choice. The results would be added to the legacy electoral college and the candidate with the most combined electoral votes wins.

While controversial with some American voters, notably “nationalists”, the proposal has many positive attributes. “It’s about time the rest of the world, gets a say in who becomes the US President”, said Hans Juncker, one of the architects of the plan. Juncker believes everyone will benefit from having a world consensus US President, rather than simply being elected by backwater rubes in places like Texas and Indiana. He says “skin in the game” will make the world safer and happier, and “foreign meddling in US elections would become a thing of the past”.

The UN resolution faces various obstacles. The number of electoral votes to award Israel is a subject of heated debate. Canada is lobbying for extra electors beyond their population size and GDP due to the extensive shared border and common language.

President Biden has endorsed the plan.

Definitely an effort to influence the results of an election.

Subpoena Biden and find out what he knows. That ought to take ten minutes.

Another one of the hangups is whether or not to count people in concentration camps. Of the permanent 5 on the UN Security Council, two – Russia and China are for counting people in concentration camps for purposes of the Global Electoral College, while two – France and Great Britain are in opposition. As for the US, it’s not clear exactly what their position is. Secretary of State Buttigeig opposes counting people in concentration camps, but President Biden has suggested that people in concentration camps be counted as 3/5ths of a person.

    Yes!

Meanwhile, Mexico is claiming the preponderance of ethnic Mexicans living and working inside the United States should give Mexico a bigger footprint when it come to awarding electoral votes.

We should write the parody together!

The problem with these dystopian novels is getting it written and published before it happens.

I talked with a woman today who has traveled internationally for the last 15-20 years, including 10 different countries in the last year.  I followed up on the subject of this Post.  While there was a general dislike by many in foreign countries  of George W. Bush, she has never seen such loathing of an American President as Trump.  People she meets go out of their way to state how much they despise Trump, at a level she has never seen before, even during the Iraq War.  She even saw a sign in a restaurant that said that Trump Supporters were not allowed to eat there.

It appears that this time, Joe Biden was correct about the world’s lack of regard for Trump.

You do understand that interpretation of what you have presented here derives from one’s view of America’s place in the world. My guess is that you and I interpret this in opposite ways. I like the world’s lack of regard for President Trump because that is a measure of his effectiveness. They will learn that their welfare depends on what they can do for themselves, not what they can get from America. Joe Biden will not make it to the nomination.

Gary, I don’t know how I’m going to be able to go to sleep tonight knowing that some foreigner somewhere isn’t totally enraptured by our government. Oh, the bitter, bitter shame …

Sobbing into my tear-soaked pillow, I’ll try to console myself with the thought that we are trying to run a country, not win a popularity contest, and if François doesn’t like it, François can go lump it.
