The chyron didn’t show up. What was it?
Claiming the VA AG or lieutenant governor was a Republican, lol…
Hmm… it’s working for me. Mods, did I do something wrong???
What were the actual words?
Appeal to Max. Max knows everything.
“Trump cuts U.S. aid to three Mexican countries.”
“Trump cuts US aid to 3 Mexican countries”
< devil’s advocate mode = on >
In those cases, is it possible that an apology would be tantamount to an admission of libel? The Fox chyron error was not libelous, merely embarrassing.
< devil’s advocate mode = off >
I think you cut and pasted it instead of uploading the picture to Ricochet’s server. You see it because it’s in the buffer memory of your computer.
I ignore the leftie attacks on Fox News because I know the latest ratings will be out in a few days.
No one does geography as well as CNN.
Works for me.
No. It’s just stupidity.
When I first got into television I thought the lowest form of life in the broadcast universe were the master control operators. I was wrong. It’s news producers.
And technology has eliminated a lot of technicians in the business. Now the garbage that floats around a producer’s mind goes directly from his or her (or its) mind to their computer work station and then spills out into millions of homes. Remove the layers of people who can question the accuracy or appropriateness of anything and stuff like that is going to happen.
Libel is tricky. In the Covington example, there is a lawsuit against CNN and the Washington Post. I would think there is a case since CNN had the full tape and knowingly edited it to paint their villain narrative. In some of these other cases, the media can just use the “we were dumb” defense.
But with these egomaniacs, “we were dumb” is 1,000 times worse than admitting to libel.
I only watch Fox News for Special Report when I’m home in time to watch it, but the reaction from the CNN guy(Brian?) about the mistake was nuts. As shown above, CNN is not perfect with their Chryons and it shows how this is all fake outrage.
Oooh that’s rough, because you know the poor woman is just standing next to a green screen. Luckily for her most people aren’t very good a Geography so I doubt they caught. It.
Also can I say that this Fox chyron thing is just pure hilarity. Talk about living up too much to your stereotype. As a piece of Comedy it is just brilliant.
Not anymore. Plasma and LCD displays have changed all that. The problem used to be that the screens could not be made bright enough to compensate for the lights of the studio. Now the displays are brighter and the cameras are better.
My initial reaction was that it seems kinda ridiculous to try to make a major news story out of 42 people dying in a country of over 1.4 billion people.
Isn’t Hong Kong a coastal town in England?
Makes sense, and interesting to know. I was on tube a few times back in the day, all interview formats, and I always felt like a doofus sitting in front of the green backdrop, since you had no idea what the audience might be seeing behind you.
Nah. Hong Kong is King Kong’s kid brother.
Anybody want to check to see what Ann Coulter says the correct term should have been…
In other news, CNN made a report that was accurate, but only as an April Fool’s joke.
(Hat tip to Babylon bee.)
You think that is an actual screen behind the poor lass?
Have you seen giant Hornets? I am amazed they haven’t killed more people they are like 2 inches long. Just thinking about them makes me break out into a cold sweat.
Absolutely.
Here’s a promotional video from a company that specializes in these large displays. It’s not the old local news chroma key anymore. (And even if it was there would be a large monitor underneath or beside her camera so that she could see the graphics.)
And when they do, it’s usually in the form of, “We’re sorry you found it offensive.” It’s never, “We apologize for offending you.”
Big difference, because it puts the onus on you for being offended, implying you were wrong . . .
No, that is Hung Kong.
No that’s a 70’s gay porno.
This is a scene from a 1950’s Sci-Fi horror flick! Let me get some popcorn…
