Contributor Post Created with Sketch. Recommended by Ricochet Members Created with Sketch. Quote of the Day – The Solution to Every Problem

It doesn’t matter what the problem is, the solution is always for us to give the government more money and power, while we eat less meat. – Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit)

The blogfather is obviously talking about the solution always offered by socialists, statists, and authoritarians of every stripe, rather than his own beliefs.

It’s true though. Pick any problem posed by a Democrat: Global warming, global cooling, poverty, crime, crowded roads, or even halitosis. They assert everything can be solved by some variation of giving the government more money and power, and us eating less meat. (Not them eating less meat, as cow-fart Ocasio-Cortez illustrated at the guerrilla video taken of her as a restaurant showed.)

A lot of times it doesn’t matter how much money someone makes, they are just at a different level of poor. No one ever seems to think the government is poor because we still enjoy the good life here.

    So true.

My solution to every problem is to go back in time and make better decisions.

Add World Overpopulation. Support abortion and shame women to not have children in the first world. Import 3rd world people without the same culture to go on welfare and chain migrate their families. In addition, after giving away technology to the Chinese and others, give out H1-B visas to destroy creative Americans in STEM. Rinse and repeat.

… as every single Western government actuarial system runs out of money because of the lack of population growth.

Abort for the state, comrade! Procreate for the state, comrade!

Think about the timing of the invention of The pill, abortion legalization, and Medicare. Discuss.

    Wait a second.

I gave up eating meat over 8 years ago. Are you telling me that all of our problems haven’t been solved yet?

Indeed. When John Edwards was running for president he said he had a plan to solve the obesity crisis. I think Mike Huckabee did, as well, so it’s not just Democrats. When Donald Trump was campaigning he said we should make him president so he could make people in stores say “Merry Christmas” again. There’s no “problem” insignificant enough that you won’t find a politician who says he can fix it if he’s given enough power.
