Black History Month, So Far…
Let’s just take a moment to recap the events of Black History Month, thus far:
1. Jussie Smollet manufactured a hate crime, complete with a noose, paid actors, bleach, someone yelling “This is MAGA country,” and a faked hate letter to kick it all off weeks prior. Victimhood will get sympathy in this country. In Smollet’s case, he hoped it would get him a raise. Smollett’s actions are a hate crime and contain the main features of a hate crime.
2. Kamala Harris lied about listening to Tupac and Snoop while smoking pot in high school. Her father is an economics professor at Stanford so these comments were obviously intended to gain her credibility in the black community. Very insulting that someone would think that smoking pot and listening to rap is what it takes to get the black vote. That’s the same as a politician claiming they listened to country music while drinking whiskey in an effort to lock down the white vote.
3. AOC led the charge in destroying 25,000+ jobs in Queens, along with the secondary businesses that would have resulted. Specifically, Long Island City is 26% black (as a whole, Long Island City is approximately 85% minorities). AOC was fighting the rich, white man and won (lost). Her efforts destroyed a golden opportunity for black and minority investment as a way she might gain credibility with that same group.
4. Elizabeth Warren reportedly backed reparations in a NYT piece today. Her Native American ancestry debacle required her to over-compensate. Also, she seems to think you can buy the black vote, which is insulting.
We still have a week left!

Also interesting will be her proposal how/by whom reparations should be funded.
Why aren’t blacks insulted by “Black History” month? And, why is it the shortest month on the calendar year? It’s just like all those MLK Blvds running through the worst part of the cities…
Black America, wake up honey! You’re being segregated, condescended to, and exploited for Democrat votes. Wake up!
So….. How much should the Cherokee part of me get from the other part of me????
You would not make a good Democrat, Okie. The Cherokee part of you is supposed to get reparations out of other people’s money.
Her father was not too happy about her comments about pot smoking, especially her insinuation that all Jamaicans smoke pot.
I see AZ is working on a bill to create a statewide DNA database for various people that interact with government. Maybe that will help Warren with her plans.
I’ve always wanted to stir the pot by calling for reparations to former slave owners for the loss of their “property” without just compensation. Then watch the accusations of “racist” fly!
It was proposed by blacks and that includes when it should be observed. Some countries celebrate it in October.
Personally I don’t pay attention. I didn’t realize it was Black History Month until I read this. It’s become a ho-hum event.
I suspect that most blacks don’t realize it’s Black History Month.
#1 — Bu Bye Jussie Somlet, we hardly knew of you, and now you can go of to prison for some much needed therapy, and obscurity.
#2 The listening to Tupac and Snoop while smoking pot was suggested by the reporter, She just went along with it – so its entirely possible she didnt actually do that…. However – on the off chance see did – At the time Snoop and Tupac albums where released (I think they still had albums back then) she was already working as a prosecutor. Prosecuting people for drug crimes – like the ones she was participating while listening to rap “music”.
Mr Harris (Kamala’s Dad) is quite upset about with her on this issue:
Market Watch article
I rather liked the quote (from the recent conservatarians podcast, I believe) “She’s either the female Obama or the Black Hillary”… I am thinking she’s the black Hillary, the instinct to pander is strong with her.
#3 AOC gets primaried by a well financed machine candidate. Lets be real – she could bomb 5th avenue and not loose any votes.
#4 On reparations – I believe they’re justified. For any person who was held against his will and forced into manual labour – they should be entitled to reparations from those individuals who participated.
Perhaps the other part of you, in hopes of being more woke, should buy the Cherokee part of you a beer in recognition of past harms. Then the Cherokee part, being a generous and forgiving soul, can buy the other a beer in return. Then they can go off together to have a good time.
Who do you have in mind? That’s alive anyway.
Nobody. That’s the point. Reparations should compensate the victims while punishing the perpetrators. Not punish the descendants on behalf of other descendants. What 11 generations late?
I don’t get the joke.
Also back in Lincoln’s time, the idea was floated before a constitutional amendment banning slavery became practical. One of many ideas floated was to use a sort of eminent domain to buy slaves from slave holders to end slavery.
Morally, that would have been a disaster.
I agree. Therefore, no black alive today is entitled to one dime . . .
At times it appears that the only reason that Kamala Harris opens her mouth is to change feet.
I’m hearing echoes in my head of that Virginia Slims commercial tagline: “You’ve come a long way, baby.”
Yah, but, somehow it always seems to be me who pays. Guess I wasn’t supposed to notice that, huh??
We attended the Black History Month celebration in our town of 14,000 (county pop. 40,000) last week. We were not the only ‘white’ people there but nearly so, We wanted to see what it was about and how some things were handled. The organizers were pleasantly surprised at the size of the turnout, a medium size gym was pretty full. They had set up displays in rooms down the hall telling the stories of successful ‘Blacks’ and after we went in groups to hear school kids read/recite those stories in character lists of local ‘black’ folks who were accomplished were read to applause.
We believe this kind of positive reinforcement aimed at telling our young they can accomplish much is a good thing, especially when accompanied by lessons in what is needed to succeed: education, hard work, faith and sacrifice. Along with Dr.s and lawyers, several of those recognized as successful were Military officers and law enforcement personnel as well as local politicians and school administrators.
This is the kind of message that young people of all skin shades need to hear and I’m glad to know leaders of all shades are actively working to see that they have the chance to hear it.
