Brian Watt: The world is watching & the consequences will be severe if any har, come to him or his family.

Lot of good that’s going to do him after the harm has been visited upon him.

At the moment, he appears safe and has been conducting a live press conference in front of his home. Unfortunately, I don’t speak Spanish, so I can’t understand what he’s saying and will be looking at other news sources for a translation.

Still, I’d rather hear someone tell me, “We’ll save you!” than, “If you come to harm, we will avenge you!”

Well, it could be an overreach and an over-promise to proclaim that someone can be “saved” if a regime arrests them and hides them away to be tortured or killed. Better to threaten “serious consequences and keep the despotic regime guessing at how serious those consequences are likely to be.

If anyone here follows @annikahernrothrothstein on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, she’s in Caracas right now reporting on things too. Check out her posts, they’re well worth following.

Thanks Brian for the article and Skip for the tip about Annika. Exile-Venezuelan friends of ours have been keeping us informed about events via FB but Annika’s page is much more up-to-date.

Venezuela has about 1.9 billion in gold sitting in the Bank of England. They have refused a request from the Maduro cartel to release it. Can’t blame them really, the last two times Russians arrived by air they brought polonium, and a military grade nerve agent with them.

    ___Russia

    ___Cuba

    ___Iran

    ___China

California is a sanctuary state, you might want to add it to the list. Perhaps Ms. Cortez’s Congressional District would suffice.

Hopefully he will survive to accept the keynote speaker’s invitation at the 2020 Democrat Convention. This will probably cancel the Dem’s plans to hold the their convention in Caracas. Too bad really, the meet and greet Taste of the Savanah dinner at the Venezuelan National Zoo sounds like it could have been a fun event.

It is too cold in Hell, Michigan. He will choose Cuba because they speak Spanish and it is fashionable to wear a sash and epaulettes.

I doubt Iran. They have massive problems of their own. When will the Ayatollahs get the Maduro treatment? Some pretty wise folks are saying that they won’t last to 2020. China is kinda stable for now but due to demographics, they are going to be in really rough shape in about 10 years. If they don’t do something big, they are going to be toppled or have a Syria-esque situation very soon. Cuba it is.
