Trump Oval Office Address (With Response from Chuck & Nancy)
Here is Donald Trump’s address to the nation from the Oval Office:
And here is the response from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer:
Original post:

As we know, President Donald Trump will address the nation this evening at 9PM ET from the Oval Office, his first such address during his administration. He’ll be talking about border security. It’s expected to be a short address, and we’ll post the video as soon as its available and also publish the audio to the POTUS POD podcast here at Ricochet. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will be delivering a response afterward as well, and we’ll be sure to post that video as well. As someone once said: We provide the information, you draw your own conclusions. Actually I think that someone said it more pithily.
In any case, what do you think Trump is going to say? Will he declare a state of emergency in order to build the wall without congressional approval for funding? Will Chuck and Nancy talk longer than the president in their response? How long is the shut down going to last? (Does anyone care?) Let us know in the comments, and check back for the videos at some point after 9:30PM.
Trump will say “we need a bipartisan solution”
Chuck and Nancy will say he’s hurting people and that there are “other solutions we should discuss” without any specifics
Ugh, I hope not. That is not what we need. What we need is a wall.
He wants bipartisan support on the wall is what I meant.
also adding that Chuck and Nancy will say “the people don’t want a wall, they want real solutions”
I predict that whatever Trump says will cause his haters to freak out.
Congratulations to the Clemson Tigers?
I haven’t been following too many details regarding this address – it seems it was announced quickly – I heard some rambling about Obama pushing for executive orders for something in 2008, and this is common – to get something pushed through. But we’re talking about Trump here – and when we hear executive orders – and state of emergency – it makes even me nervous.
The Democrats might be ok to listen to afterward if you have trouble sleeping – yawn – they will offer nothing in solutions and will turn reality into fear. The reality is we have a problem – at the border – there are drugs coming in that kill Americans, and thugs, criminals, weapons, there are terrorists – even if there are 6 per 600, it doesn’t take many to do the job. We have laws on the books to address persecution, and weigh each case fairly, and grant asylum and temporary citizenship to all who need it – not want it – there are channels to go through to gain legal access for those that want it.
All of this will be dis-regarded – thrown in the garbage tonight by the fear mongers. They won’t listen to reason or compromise. By the way, we’re not the only country experiencing the dry heaves right now –
I’m going to lay a marker down on “We are going to invade 50 miles of Northern Mexico in order to create a buffer zone.” You heard it here first.
This is his first Oval Office address. Why no live chat?
I feel fairly comfortable ,making the following prediction: He will say the word “I” far less in the entire speech, than former President Obama does in any 5 minutes of any of his speeches.
I wish
He mentioned the walls wealthy people put around their homes—done out of love for those inside, not fear of those outside. (Isn’t that ’13th century technology’, eh, Nancy?) I want a wall for BOTH reasons!
If we did that, wouldn’t we be taking back most of the factories that moved to Mexico? Aren’t they mostly right on the other side?
Too late for a prediction but I thought Trump won the exchange hands down. I thought Trump made the common sense argument well and Schumer and Pelosi relied on abstract nonsense.
Plus Schumer looked like a zombie and Pelosi looked like a puppet.
Chuck and Nancy looked like two slices of reanimated beef jerky.
Now I’m hungry.
And were they standing in a hallway? Kind of like the twins in The Shining, only scarier.
Re#13
I’ll take your word for it. Because a good physical barrier, wherever along the border it’s possible to have one, would so obviously be such a help to border security, and because I’m sure they know that, I sometimes can’t bring myself to hear out their dishonest nonsense. I’ll make myself listen to their response tomorrow.
Let’s turn this into a little fun. Didn’t Schumer look like he was a ghoul out of The Night of the Living Dead?
So you mean he’s looking better?
A good twelve-minute summary how we ended up with a Trump presidency, followed by a speech so two-faced it required two faces to give it.
Haha haha!
It’s like they’re never heard of Bobby Jindal.
Exclusive video of the Democratic response:
You should — or maybe should not — hear what passes for analysis on the radio now in the Bay Area. Adam Schiff is talking now.
If PoliGrip had any sense they’d immediately Tweet an offer to Nancy Pelosi of a year supply of denture glue.
Maybe pushing for equal time wasn’t the right move. The media would have pushed the Democrats’ agenda anyway and they could have spared themselves of a creepy visual.
Frankly, I’m getting tired of these “darker, grittier” remakes of American classics.
Does Nancy have a body double ? Each time we see her open her mouth she appears younger (born March 26, 1940).
