An interesting promoted item in my Twitter timeline:

Of course, it’s all horsepucky. Citizens United was decided on the 1st Amendment and only another amendment could change the Court’s decision. One million signatures (1/120th of the amount that voted in the 2016 presidential election) isn’t going to do anything to CRUSH(!), WRECK(!), or do anything else to RUSH(!) this Leftist DREAM(!) into reality. Nancy is only 55 votes short in her own House and 22 votes short in the Senate to do anything. And even if she were to pull off this kind of political miracle, she’d still be left short in the statehouses.

End Citizens United was started in 2015 by three Democratic operatives by the names of Greg Berlin, Jake Lipsett, and Charles Starnes. ECU gave about $6.1 million in the last two election cycles to an organization named Mothership Strategies. Mothership was founded by three Democratic operatives by the names of Greg Berlin, Jake Lipsett, and Charles Starnes.

The Twitter handle @StopBigMoney is, in all reality, an effort to make the big money stop in the pockets of Berlin, Lipsett, and Starnes. Their advertisements are patently false and is nothing more than a racket. If they were selling a product they would be in jail by now, but because it’s political speech it’s 100% protected … by Citizens United.

A PAC created to outlaw PACs. Brilliant!

It would be most effective to send the money to Fusion GPS to fabricate dossiers on 3 conservative Supreme Court justices. Then Rosenstein can launch special counsels to harass the correct decision out of SCOTUS.

The deep state doesn’t really care about free speech anymore, since they’ve learned that they can get away with corrupted prosecution and MSM is their full-time propaganda machine.

McCain-Feingold, under the guise of “getting money out of politics” our employees presume to restrict our rights. One would think a simple idea, like prohibiting Congress from making laws that abridge our rights, would be obvious. But apparently not so much. If you aren’t a lawyer, or expert on election law take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the case…

The Left is clear it wants hardcore porn everywhere, but not political speech.

EJ, I wish that you were right about this. In fact, it only takes one (1) vote to change the Citizens United decision.

The principal issue in Citizens United was decided by a 5-4 SCOTUS majority, with Scalia and Kennedy both in that majority. All four Justices in dissent are still on the Court, so at best, this is still a 5-4 issue. (FYI, I have high confidence that Gorsuch and Kavanaugh would vote the same way as Scalia and Kennedy did, were the issue presented again.)

This is one of the key reasons for my ongoing support of President Trump. We are, quite literally, one judicial vote away from losing freedom of expression.

It shouldn’t have to be like that. The members of the U.S. House & Senate all take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, don’t they? The Supreme Court is supposed to be the final backstop, not the first line of defense. It’s a shame that most of our elected officials don’t ask themselves if a law is really in accordance with the Constitution before they vote for it.
