. . . and I hope she is, and perhaps even if she is, would someone please offer her a lifetime gig singing the National Anthem at the Superbowl? (She can do the half-time show too, as far as I am concerned):

Colonel (Retired) McSally understands it isn’t about the performer, it’s about honoring the flag and the nation. A very solid rendition, with what sounds like terrible echo in the stadium. I wondered if she had an in-ear monitor, so she could hear herself without the venue acoustics.

She did it right. Accept the challenge of the early low notes so you’re not caught out on the upper register stuff.

Here is a female professional military band member singing the anthem, under better conditions. Shows how professionals should do it. McSally, strictly amateur and with no reported singing hobby/background, measures well against the standard.

Right now McSally has a 15,930 vote lead with 99% of the precincts having reported. Click on the link for an interactive map of Arizona counties.

I’m optimistic because when I went to bed at around 0100 hours her lead was about 5,000 to 6,000 votes.

Yes, here, as in Florida, the Republican needs to pile up just enough votes to overcome the Democrats’ margin of cheating.

Yep, what gives me some hope is that all the precincts in Maricopa County (Phoenix area) have reported. Pima County (Tucson area) still has about 4 precincts that have not reported. I’m assuming those are rural precincts, and the Green Party candidate in Pima County received about 6K in votes.

In the counties that are not dark red McSally has a good lead, and I expect that trend to continue. In the past Republican voters tended to go to the polls on election day, so there is a very good chance McSally might win this election.

I don’t know how accurate the reporting is but I think it was ABC news (KGUN) recently said that there are still 400,000 uncounted votes from provisional ballots and early votes that were dropped off just yesterday. Can that be right? They said it several times.

You can cheat on that and drop early in the middle of the song, between the words ‘bombs’ and ‘bursting’. First heard that done by the organist at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum during an A’s game back in the 1970s, and that’s how the local high school’s band’s handled playing the Anthem for the past couple of years.

Based on the total number of votes counted so far, that would mean 20 percent of the vote still hasn’t been tabulated. Sounds like an amazingly high number, but in states that have pushed mail-in balloting as opposed to walk-in early voting sites, not impossible.

Right. But how could there still be 400,000 still uncounted? That’s over 20% of the number already counted. Just doesn’t sound right to me.

She started really, really low, but hit the high note flat on, which most professional singers slide up in to. A 2 octave range. And stayed in pitch, AND added enthusiasm and meaning and joy. Rarely done.

Total number of early ballots cast in AZ: 1,630,172

Total ballots, all kind, counted as of 7 Nov evening: 1,752,177

Maricopa County is allowed to screw up the state-wide visibility of where we really are by lumping early and Election Day ballot counts together in their reporting. That is outrageous, but it has long been so. Thus, we don’t get a clean dashboard view.

    However, we know these things:

1630172: Total Early Ballots Cast Statewide

1000824: Total Early Ballots Cast Maricopa County

629,348 : Total Early Ballots Cast Outside Maricopa County

563,092 : Early Ballots COUNTED SO FAR Outside Maricopa County

    So, we can estimate:

66,256: Early Ballots LEFT TO COUNT Outside Maricopa County

If Maricopa County voters behaved like the rest of the voters, then we can estimate Maricopa County Polling Place votes, and so get an estimate of early ballots counted inside their total vote count.

346,861 : Estimate of Early Ballots Counted in Maricopa County, as of 7 November

653,963 : Estimate of Early Ballots LEFT TO COUNT in Maricopa County

720,219 : Estimate of Early Ballots LEFT TO COUNT in Arizona

Here is my scratch sheet with the figures I pulled from the two linked sources:

195 total provisional ballots cast outside of Maricopa County. And they do not get put into the pot, they do not pollute the vote totals, until ruled legit.

    2016 totals for AZ:

    2018 as of 7 Nov:
    Precincts Reporting: 99%
    Registered Voters: 3,716,161
    Ballots Cast: 1,752,177
    Voter Turnout: 47.15%

If there are 720,000 left to count, the total for the election may be roughly:
    Ballots cast: 2,470,000
    Voter Turnout: 66%

Arizona Republicans sued to stop potential cheating by Democrat controlled precincts dirtying up the vote totals with unverified early ballots. This will be heard Friday, but the next batch of votes will be processed and posted Thursday.

Early results show McSally with a slight advantage. The next major results update isn’t expected to come until 5 p.m. Thursday.

The only thing missing was a flyby of A-10s.

Heck, she should have sung it from the cockpit while circling the stadium!

I’d love to see (and hear) her sing it at the first session of the new Senate . . .

She needs to slow down to account for the reverb, but at least she was on-pitch and didn’t embellish. Good job.

Heh. Like I know what I’m talkin’ about…

No, it doesn’t. If there’s no vote fraud going on, I’ll eat my hat.

What’s the threshold for calling for a recount? Democrats provided just enough fraudulent votes here in Wisconsin (47,000 mysteriously appearing in Milwaukee after the county had already claimed to have 100% of the vote in) so that Walker couldn’t ask for a recount, because the difference was over 1%.

This is SOP for the Democrats, and I don’t know why more isn’t made of it. I don’t even think Obama really won in 2012. I mean there was a county in PA that went 100% for Obama. Really?

Maybe there should be a law that when the vote count reaches 100% of registered voters, the polls close. I’m tired of ballots appearing from the trunks of Democrat operatives who swear they were held up in traffic . . .

This would definitely increase the incentive to vote early and often.
