Both sound pretty mindless. Washington was a Federalist. Madison and Jefferson were Democrats. So opposite parties and different ideas of what the country should be. That GOP guy doesn’t know much.

Who in the current GOP ever talks about the Founding Fathers? Ben Sasse, anyone else?

And they’re all dead white guys!

C’mon, it’s a cartoon, not a history lesson. You get the point.

I am listening to Ben Sasse’s book “Them” on CD. Excellent.

The Founders gave us what we have today, a foundation.

“That GOP guy” knows better than to listen to Oprah, Ferrell or Kimmel.

Hope enough of those voting today do, too.

Apropos of @frontseatcat and @fritz, we remember the contributions of Washington, Jefferson, and Madison today.

The contributions of Oprah, Ferrell, and Kimmel are ephemeral at best.

    Michael,

I’m praying. Your piece is so completely true it’s frightening. The Dems are so shallow as to be worthless. If they get in control again I’m not sure the country will recover. Sasse & Jonah Goldberg are nice very smart guys but I’m afraid they’re both spoiled. Goldberg is spoiled by having always been in with the Manhattan elite. Sasse is spoiled because he doesn’t need to worry about his own Nebraska electorate ripping him apart after they’ve lost it to a socialist fantasy. We have mid-term candidates running for their life right now. Given the insanity of Obama & Clinton and the perversity of the left and media (I repeat myself), they should be winning big. You can forget about blaming Donald Trump. Without Trump, they wouldn’t even have a chance of victory. Trump has kept them in the running.

If we lose this mid-term, I suppose life won’t change that much in Nebraska or Manhattan. However, I can’t say that for the rest of us. There is a calm because you really have wisdom and there is calm because you really don’t have anything to risk anyway.

    Regards,

    Jim

I thought the point was that the GOP is the party of slavery. Perhaps Ramirez should have included Lincoln in the list.

But perhaps the point was that the GOP is the party of lawyers, and including Lincoln would only have raised the proportion from 66% to 75%.

Madison was effectively for a weak and divided government so I would include him on the list. Jefferson was all over the place and had a soft spot for the French Revolution like he was a crazy lefty. Also, Jefferson was probably the best writer of the lot of them but the least clear-headed. A lefty trait if there ever was one.
