Hear, hear, and well said. Thanks.
We’re at an impasse with the other half of the country. They don’t want the same things we want and they’re willing to violate all conventions of decent, ethical behavior to get what they want (which is power over every aspect of our lives). We need to stop fooling ourselves about this.
I have no idea how to resolve it. An amicable divorce is unlikely. I can only hope the #WalkAway movement is significant enough to put the Democrats out of the power game for a while. But, then, I remind myself, at the height of the Soviet Union, only 10% of the population belonged to the Communist Party. It puts proof to the old adage, one bad apple…
Good post.
Thanks, Jim. Well said.
I have one thing to add about your criticism of the committee Democrats. Sen. Klobuchar we must exclude from this. She tepidly played the party line about the need for an FBI investigation. But it seemed to me that everything in her face and body language was screaming that she could hardly bear to play along with the charade, even in this small way.
I am praying for her tonight.
Exactly as you say, Jim. I watched it all, too, and completely share your disgust at the lack of basic decency of the Democrats on stage today.
I also share your displeasure with the Fox coverage. Maybe they were trying to live up to their motto of “Fair and Balanced,” but if so, that was not the correct approach, given the antics of the Democrats throughout this whole sorry exercise.
Great post. Thanks.
If my Facebook feed is any indication, no one’s mind was changed by the circus.
Folks who stand with the accuser are totally ready to drop all semblance of care for due process and the presumption of innocence. I’ve lost respect for people, who I knew I disagreed with politically, but had no idea they were willing to drop all for the political win.
The people who think Judge Kavanaugh was defeated and unfairly defamed think the accuser is mentally ill.
The Democrats on the committee didn’t come out very well in anybody’s book.
Me? I think Dr. Blasey-Ford may have been assaulted but there seems to be no real life linkage to Judge Kavanaugh. His life is in tatters.
I take comfort knowing he is a man of faith and he has a friend and mentor who has walked this path before waiting for him on the Court.
At first I was embarrassed for everyone involved in that episode, then I started laughing.
I am willing to bet South Park runs with it, except it may not be as funny.
OMG Are you hearing them right now? Whitehead or Whitehouse or whatever his name is? They’re going to keep this FBI stuff up even after he’s confirmed. He’ll never know another moment’s peace if they have their way. In addition to losing the election, they’ve lost their minds.
One minute read from Ben Domenench. Excellent. #MAGA
He is so right. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.
I love the look on her face when Whitehorse had him define “ralph”. Morons.
Get out there and vote!
Afternoon Jim,
You mentioned that you would never trust the media, I would add that the media is the “enemy of the people” or culture, or the Western world, or however one wants the phrase the idea. Would you go that far. The first time I noticed the gulf between the information presented in a hearing and how it was reported was during a hearing on nuclear warhead defense, including the idea of “dense pack”.
Her body language means naught if she votes to reject.
Goodly people can still do bad things.
I’m from Minnesota. Klobuchar never, ever leads on anything important. She votes as far left as possible as she can, while at the same time being unmemorable in any way she can get away with. She will be senator for life.
Kav should have asked the Senators if they thought this was a job interview.
Now they are mailing a big deal about Mark Judge, like all of the lawyers and stories are just a tactic to hide damning information.
I’ve been saying it long before DJT ever said it. And “treasonous,” “traitorous,” “lying,” “left wing lap dogs” bastards, too.
The Democrats didn’t lose this one. The machinery they built to go after Kavanagh will be used pour encourager les autres. Trump’s potential pool of SCOTUS nominees may just have shrunk.
The machinery will be used to savage inconvenient decisions Kavanagh is involved in if he’s confirmed.
Don’t get me wrong. A Kavanagh confirmation is essential for Trump, and as such it will have staved off a political catastrophe and in that sense would be a victory.
Steven Hayward is on a roll at Powerline:
It’s wonderful how the Left is helping Ford. $900K so far in crowdfunding and a book deal. Do you think she knew beforehand that this would happen? That would be shocking, shocking.
Oh, I do so hope they go after ACB for her faith if she’s next (although, who could blame her if she withdrew from the process, what with her family to protect?). Freedom of conscience is even appealing to people on the Left. Even non-believers mostly want people to have religious rights.
Freedom of conscience is appealing to normals. For the Left… not hardly.

Blech.
