Trump Orders Declassification of FISA-Related Documents

From the White House:

At the request of a number of committees of Congress, and for reasons of transparency, the President has directed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to provide for the immediate declassification of the following materials: (1) pages 10-12 and 17-34 of the June 2017 application to the FISA court in the matter of Carter W. Page; (2) all FBI reports of interviews with Bruce G. Ohr prepared in connection with the Russia investigation; and (3) all FBI reports of interviews prepared in connection with all Carter Page FISA applications.

In addition, President Donald J. Trump has directed the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to publicly release all text messages relating to the Russia investigation, without redaction, of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr.

So when do we get to see them? The Washington Examiner reports:

The process to declassify will likely not be immediate, as the documents still have to be examined by the Justice Department, FBI and Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

It needs to be completed by the end of October in order to be available to the voters before the mid terms.  They’ll try to slow walk it; fortunately Sessions is in charge.  /s

Oh, about 2021 or later. I mean, so what if they slow-walk them? Who’s gonna hold them accountable? Congress? Haha ahh ahhahhahah hhahaha!

    Tell me another knee-slapper!

I believe if they try to slow walk this to much.  Trump will use it an excuse to terminate large portions of the bureaucracy.

Given what we have seen so far there should be some interesting revelations in the rest.

Finally the trump card.    I think he waited too long.  If the Dems weren’t jamming the news cycle, then it could be absorbed by voters.  However, getting airtime and mind-share the next few weeks will be hard.

I think to move the needle, it would take an indictment of Comey or Rosenstein.  I am not sure which way that moves the needle.

The results will only confirm what we already suspect. The evidence in support of the FISA application is warmed over weak tea. It will expose everyone who was responsible for certifying the application as rubber stamping clerks. Unfortunately, the media will treat this as old news.

The full text messages might generate some embarrassment for those concerned. But there won’t be any definitive evidence of criminal activity.

The one area which might be informative are the records of the Bruce Ohr conversations. But I think it will only be back story stuff.

Shorter version: this is only important if the press takes things seriously. Which they won’t. Don’t get your hopes up!

This should have been done a year ago.  There will still be redactions for means and methods, but some of the new reveals should be interesting, if we learn more about who ordered what.

In politics as in comedy, it’s all about timing.  DiFi had the lady liar’s information for quite a while, waiting for the opportune moment to bring it up.  Maybe Trump can be just as canny, waiting until this moment to order the declassification.  It might be a whole lot of nothing, or there may be fireworks.  It remains to be seen . . .

It is about time – this is interesting:

Maybe James O’Keefe could found out who “Anonymous is”?

Democrats, Failed US Attorney General Eric Holder among them, are accusing President Trump of an abuse of power for bringing this transparency to the process.  An outrageous accusation.

I strongly believe these lovers of the Deep State fear the transparency will disclose their hideouts in the swamp.

Obstruction of justice impeachment hearings to be held shortly after the blue wave for a POTUS exercising his legal authority to make an issue more transparent.  Exposing the steady states secrets and unlawfulness is just going too far.
