How Outrageous!

I’ve noticed the funniest thing in the last few days, and I keep waiting for someone to point it out, but I haven’t seen anyone yet.

Liberal commentators are concerned, very concerned, and you can tell they’re concerned by the concerned expressions on their concerned faces and the concerned tones of their concerned voices… that Donald Trump might have been trying to affect the outcome of the election by paying off women to keep them quiet. Get that… they are specifically upset not by the payoffs, but by their potential effect on the vote.

Oh My God! A politician trying to win an election, actually trying to get as many votes as possible? Outrageous! What other horrifying revelations will we be forced to accept? Next, you’ll be telling me that the White House Press Office plays up news that is positive for the administration while downplaying information that is not.

Of course, we all know that Hillary Clinton spent her $2 billion campaign war chest helping the homeless, and trying to build a better America. She would never be so crass as to use that money to try to get votes.

    Certainly not electoral votes.

Obama offered Rev Wright $150K in 2008 to stop speaking until after the election.  The MSM was not concerned about that.

I didn’t have anything important to do yesterday, just pay some bills, read some e-mails, and hit the gym for a bit. So I wasted time listening to Rush, Hannity, and Levin for about an hour each. Then, for contrast, turned over to the local NPR affiliate. There is no way to bridge the gap in the reporting. I don’t know if it’s bias or stupidity coupled with ignorance. Maybe it’s all of that. Whatever the cause, there is no common ground at all.

What worries me is Trump’s intelligence.  Do these thought ever run through his head?

“Let’s see, if I go to bed with this exotic dancer, she may tell my wife or ruin my political career unless I give her a few hundred thousand dollars.  What the hell.   It’s worth it, even if I have a beautiful wife at home who will do the same thing.”

Or perhaps Trump thinks, “Maybe she’s so honorable she won’t tell anyone.”

Or perhaps he thinks that the exotic dancer will say, “I don’t need your money, Donald.  You might need it when you’re old.”

What do you think?  Is Trump as dumb as a stump when it comes to matters of the groin?

He didn’t have apolitical career back then, and he was well known as a horndog in the NY tabloids.  As to your question, most men are.

People tend to repeat pleasurable behavior that’s worked for them.  To cite an extreme example, the crowd booing Ceausescu just before he was overthrown.  Romanians had had to listen in silence to him for decades.  Suddenly, things had changed and he realized it too late.

The PTB went back 11 years to find this activity. And the same brouhaha would be going on today over some infidelity he’d committed that was  20 years or 35 years in the past.

Carol Joy, you’re probably right.  However, even 20 years ago he was a rich guy with a wife.  Putting aside the issue of morality, that still leaves us with the practical matter of blackmail and payoffs.  I don’t think that Trump thought it through. He was a risk taker in financial matters.  He was apparently a risk taker in his sexual proclivities.

The smartest and most honorable man I ever knew, I found out years later  to my disillusionment, had occasionally confused his brain with “matters of the groin.”

Maybe he embraced the left’s zeitgeist of the 1960s ?

Decades later, he became an adult.

Many of the youths at that time still demonstrate they never will.

I’ve listened to some of these various voices, too, in podcasts after I’m done at work, and while driving around on errands. You’re right! It’s like there are TWO ENTIRELY different United States of America out there. And they aren’t talking to each other. And they don’t hear each other. And they have no idea what the other one thinks or wants. I think it is a little scary.

But this is not true. We hear the other side. It’s just most of them will not listen to us and have never heard what we have to say. We read their stories. We watch their news.

Doin’ great, @kentforrester.* Then again, I’m not the one who questioned the president’s intelligence.

I read what you wrote; I even quoted that part. You also wrote “What worries me is Trump’s intelligence,” the implication being that his was lacking. This, about a guy with achievements that exceed those of most folks by a lot. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t have reprehensible behaviors. But stupid he ain’t. Didn’t think I needed to spell it out in so much detail.
