Multistate Obamacare Tax Lawsuit Getting Very Little Coverage

This seems like a big story, but it is not in any MSM.  Texas and four other states sued about “fees” charged to states under ACA. The federal judge decided that was illegal and a lot of money will be returned to states. A victory for the 10th amendment!

This happened Aug 21st and I have only seen a reference on one right-wing website. A quick search of Texas’ major newspapers did not find anything. Here’s a link to the AG’s press release.

Step 2 seeks to void all of ObamaCare. Enjoy!

Good post.  Now that Obamacare is a liability to the Federal government, maybe the Republicans in Congress will honor their campaign pledges and repeal it . . .

From your lips to God’s ears.   It would take an act of God for the Republicans in Congress to honor their campaign pledges.

All five states: Nebraska, Texas,Kansas, Indiana and Wisconsin will have competitive races for Gov, Sen and House. Republicans in these states need to be shouting about this type of thing.

The Republicans  in State X have got millions in improper taxes returned to the State to help the less fortunate

We don’t see it because it doesn’t fit the Narrative.

    That’s a good topic for prayer – Psalm 21:1

I asked God if he would do this.

    He replied, “Who are you?”

    “I’m Stad.  You made me.”

The next thing I heard was “Oy vey” followed by the sound of a forehead smack . . .

This is the kind of thing that makes me nuts. I had a post ready to put up next week, but I may do it sooner. Your post, @dong, explains exactly why the Republicans may be giving away this election. No one knows what they’re doing. We have to find a way to push the message. Good post!

How is this even possible?  I thought Lincoln killed it dead as a doornail.

This will have little effect on the mid-terms because it is complicated- you can’t explain it on a bumper sticker.  No one really understood how the feds and states worked Medicaid “together” before ObamaCare (lots of states played lots of sleazy games to increase their federal funding, and there was massive inequity in the administration and allowed prices by each state), it got more complicated after ObamaCare.  Now, after the tax cut bill and other permitted HHS rules changes, it is more complicated still.   Killing one of the games played by Obama to reduce the 10 year CBO cost will have almost no effect nationally.  Perhaps the Texas AG might squeeze a little positive ink out of it.

The only solution is for the feds to take complete control of Medicaid- get the states out of that business entirely- and rationalize the payments and administration.  Paul Ryan tried the reform route using the current shared cost model, and lost bigly.

Well, I wasn’t smoking my cigar when I made the post.  When I do smoke, I usually have a beverage to sip with it.   It can be:

    Jack Daniels #7,

    Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey,

    Chivas Regal,

    Crown Royal,

    Stolichnaya Vodka, or

    Cuervo Gold tequila.

Even though I am 110 percent against rationalizing of the administration of anything, I am curious about what you mean by “massive inequity in the…allowed prices by each state.”
