Van Driver Kills 9 in Toronto

Once again, a rental van plowed through pedestrians on a sidewalk, this time in Toronto. Nine people have been reported killed and 16 reported injured in the Monday attack. Police have the suspect in custody and have identified him as 25-year-old Alek Minassian. The latest from CBS News:

U.S. law enforcement sources told CBS News that the incident appears to be a deliberate act. Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale said it was too soon to say whether the crash was a case of international terrorism. He said Canada has not changed its terrorism alert level and he has no information that would suggest a need to do so.

CTV News reported that at least four of the hospitalized victims were in critical condition.

“At this point it’s too early to tell what if any motive there was,” Toronto police spokeswoman Meaghan Gray said.

A witness, Phil Zullo, told Canadian Press that he saw police arresting a man who had been driving a Ryder rental truck and saw people “strewn all over the road” where the incident occurred.

“It must have seen about five, six people being resuscitated by bystanders and by ambulance drivers,” Zullo said. “It was awful. Brutal.”

With my admittedly amateur sleuthing, I have located a LinkedIn page for an Alek Minassian living in Richmond Hill, just outside of Toronto, who is listed as a student at Seneca College in Toronto. For what it’s worth, his last name is of Armenian origin, a Christian nation.

Clearly we need stronger van control.  A national registry of vans is required, as the first step to banning vans outright.

Right you are! Cars need to be next.

Then  the helping hands of our always benevolent government can tell you when, where and why you may travel.  Won’t it be wunderful? Yes, we will then need  a permit to travel anywhere, including across the street.

Not just gun or van control; people control. It’s really for the best. Our betters have told us so, so it must be true.

Yes.  Just some common sense van control and a dress code at Waffle House, and this week would be less grim.

Death Cult 570-632 or Death Race 2000?

Many vans have bumpers, which sounds a lot like bump stocks, and should be banned.  Also, vans with fully automatic transmissions should obviously be banned.  High capacity fuel tanks enable mass van killers; with a lower capacity tank this killer would have run out of gas before he could have done such damage.

Allow only electric vans. Kill two birds with one stone.

I know, I know — too soon. You just can’t parody the idiocy of the Left without stumbling off a cliff.

Yet another reason to mandate self-driving, electric cars everywhere!

A bong and a bar in every car!

Well at least you aren’t sending them your thoughts and prayers, because that would be outrageous.

I think hunters and sportsmen should still have trucks though; who else really needs a truck?

Also, that way we’d know who we should hate (actually, we do already.)

    10 have now died.

One thing that strikes me about the biography of this loonie, is that he’s been a student at a community college, since 2011. At best he sounds like he’s stuck in a rut, unable to launch into his career.

I was talking to our candidate on Thursday about this attack.  Shes a Doctor and was called in on this incident and she says there is another 80 people who were injured, but because they didnt rate serious injury status they are not being counted as casualties.  People who have sprained ankles or broken bones are not serious casualties.

It has virtually disappeared from the news here already. Must not have served someone’s narrative.

Not entirely, the Trudeau government is going to use this as an excuse to censor the internet – or attempt anyway.
