This Gave Me a Laugh

“We didn’t have a scandal that embarrassed us,” he said. The former president admitted that his team made mistakes, but no massive screw-ups. He then said, “I know that seems like a low bar,” at which point the audience burst into laughter.

Apparently, Barack Obama gave a “secret” speech at a sports analytics conference at MIT. But he didn’t talk about sports analytics, he talked about himself and how great he is and other progressive bull. Pity the poor attendees at that sports analytics conference.

“We didn’t have a scandal that embarrassed us.” That is because it takes a sense of shame or humiliation to feel embarrassed, and this man has no shame or humility. In case you need a reminder of the scandals that he used to fundamentally transform America and that didn’t embarrass BHO, here is a short list:

  1. Benghazi
  2. Hillary’s private server
  3. Fast and Furious
  4. AG Holder being held in contempt of Congress
  5. Solyndra
  6. Delivering pallets of cash to Iran in the dead of the night
  7. Obamacare “You can keep your doctor”
  8. IRS targeting conservative groups
  9. Bowe Bergdahl
  10. Spying on journalists
  11. Unmasking/spying on political opponents

Or, at the very least, that your various malfeasances see the light of day.

As you rightly note, the “that embarrassed us” part is far more telling than the speaker likely intended.  May I add the fact that there is evidence that BHO himself emailed HRC on the insecure server.  A credible case has been made (Andy McCarthy?) that the failure to prosecute Clinton was connected to POTUS involvement.  It might have been embarrassing.

What’s the problem?    He’s absolutely right.    He’s not embarrassed by any of that.   He should be.    But he’s not.

To a normal person it would have been a great embarrassment. To BHO and his sycophants it is a mistake that the information got out and a fact to be overlooked.

I get the point, but there’s still a large set of the population that considers the BH0 administration “scandal-free”. The press did, and continues to do, yeoman’s work carrying water for this guy. And he’s still an enigma. We know more about Joe the Plumber than we really know about 0. We probably know less than that about The 0ne, since 0’s “autobiographies” (who writes one autobiography, let alone two, before accomplishing anything?!?) are either almost certainly ghostwritten or outright fabrication. Make him go away, please.

Whatever he said at MIT surely pales in comparison to what he said about Rashid Khalidi. That was “secret,” too. But the LA Times still carries water for the guy.

    The correct statement would be

“We didn’t have a scandal that the press used to embarrass us.”

How could there be a scandal when all the reporters and all the politicians are licking his boots? They were too busy with that activity to look up and see what a Marxist really looks like.

You mention the Iranian cash pallets but he also should be investigated for trying to collude with them to give them nuclear weapons and to deescalate tensions when they consider themselves at war with us. This is treasonous behavior and it should be investigated — it’s already a scandal.

I think this investigation IS about the scandal in his administration. He needs to get a TV and turn it to Fox News…..:-)

PS…..There’s a story on Drudge about how the community organizers in Chicago are rejecting the Obama Library…..there are plenty of good reasons, the biggest I can think of is who needs a reminder encased in a large building of what a lousy administration we had for 8 years.

My [admittedly warped] reading of the controversies surrounding the proposed Obama Library is that the Obamas want to radically transform the neighborhood, and the neighborhood doesn’t think it wants to be radically transformed.

All media are statists. The statist media. “State sponsored media”.

And they say Trump is arrogant and thin-skinned.  Trump can laugh at himself; all the reports of his desperate need for constant approval come from others, their interpretation of his motives – I don’t buy it.

Obama was the thinnest-skinned guy I’ve seen as President.

Btw, nice picture there, Nathanael.  You’ve got a serious Jonah Goldberg going on there. 😁

Exactly. That’s why I find the current controversy so entertaining (in a warped morbid type way).

These non-embarrassing scandals keep coming to the light of day.

Samantha Power Lied To My Face

Kassem Eid, who survived Assad’s bombings, starvation, and chemical weapons attacks:

Obama admin knew about Assad prison crematoriums & hid evidence because it would have forced them to act vs Syria – and that would’ve gotten in way of their Iran policy
