Desperation and Denial: The Dems Should Be Very Worried
Western Chauvinist has a post that features a jaw-dropping video interview of attorney, Joe diGenova, regarding details and a timeline of the events leading up to the current discussion of the FISA memo. You really must listen to the whole thing. I was so taken aback that I had to check out who this guy was.
Joe diGenova has been around for years:
For four years, diGenova was United States Attorney, District of Columbia, which is the largest such office, having more than 400 attorneys. He supervised complex Federal criminal and civil matters including international drug smuggling, public corruption, espionage, insider trading, tax fraud, extradition, fraud, RICO, export control and international terrorism.
He and his wife, Victoria Toensing also represented victims in the Lois Lerner IRS scandal and have been in private practice for many years.
In a quick survey of criticisms of DiGenova, I found this piece:
Discredited Republican lawyer Joseph diGenova is baselessly claiming that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her staff will face criminal prosecution by the FBI over her use of private email as secretary of state, despite numerous media reports explaining that Clinton is not the target of the FBI’s investigation, which is also not criminal in nature. DiGenova has been discredited as a result of unprofessional behavior while working for Republicans in the 1990s and false claims he has made about the September 2012 Benghazi attacks.
Need I point out that the article came from Media Matters, a George Soros site?
So I’m getting very excited about the direction of all these recent investigations. I see Devin Nunes continuing to strategize the release of additional information that will target not only the FBI and the DOJ, but also the State Department. I see Chuck Grassley challenging the FBI for the redactions on the letter he and Lindsey Graham sent out, validating the four-page Republican memo. I see Trey Gowdy stating that the Democrats’ memo doesn’t invalidate any facts from the Republican memo. And I see Adam Schiff continuing to defend his positions, looking more ridiculous and desperate every day.
I think the Republicans are finally prepared to fight back. We just need to find a way to get their information out and stop the mainstream media from publishing false information.
Joe DiGenova says that Fusion GPS paid off several people to get out the lies; some of those were reporters. Will the mainstream media finally tattle on their own?

Fusion GPS will end up exposing that most journalists are for sale. Not a few, but most.
We are approaching the point where people who don’t feel that something horrible happened ( DOJ/FBI/State/Obama Admin /IRS/) are the ones with tinfoil hats.
Well said, Doc!! Unfortunately, I think the general public who aren’t especially interested in politics are probably still in the dark!
Suzy,
Stay tuned. Don’t touch that dial. There’s more in store.
Regards,
Jim
Another important data point is this CTH post describing a Judge Jeannine interview last night.

Bill Priestap is cooperating.
When you understand how central E.W. “Bill” Priestap was to the entire 2016/2017 ‘Russian Conspiracy Operation‘, the absence of his name, amid all others, created a curiosity. I wrote a twitter thread about him last year and wrote about him extensively, because it seemed unfathomable his name has not been a part of any of the recent story-lines.
Priestap was Strozk’s superior and head of FBI counterintel. He has been very quiet and now we know he has been cooperating (spilling his guts) to the committee.
FBI Director James Comey was ducking responsibility in March 2017 by blaming FBI Director of Counterintelligence Bill Priestap for not informing congress of the operation that began in July 2016. (9 months prior).
At that moment, that very specific moment during that March 20th hearing, anyone who watches these hearings closely could see FBI Director James Comey was attempting to create his own exit from being ensnared in the consequences from the wiretapping and surveillance operation of candidate Trump, President-elect Trump, and eventually President Donald Trump.
Back in the Bush presidency the left was eager for “Fitzmas,” which was going to be “frog marching Cheney out of the White House.” What we may see instead is the house of FBI cards falling a month before the election.
This is why the Democrats are not “very afraid.”
And by this you clearly mean that they have demonstrated the shamelessness to wilfully and openly service one, and only one, side of the aisle free of charge. But don’t let me put words in your mouth…
Which committee? The Reps?
Public opinion polls are slowly shifting. Now, a majority of Americans thinks that the intel agencies tried to prevent Trump from winning the election and continued to harass him after,
There is even a sizable minority of Democrats that agree,
Really? Which polls are showing that?
Susan the a third of the general public believe in zombies. Another third have been beamed up in space ships, both thirds are Democrats.
And wait till Nunes gets the transcripts of the Carter Page FISA warrant hearings!
I, too, am excited!
Actually, I am especially interested in the IG report, which I’ve heard will be out in March.
#metoo.
After watching the 31-minute video, I looked him up.
I was heartened when media matters described him as a proven conspiracy theorist. Another source called him a flake.
The video is evidence he is not a flake.
In the Thomas interview he mentioned a declassified document that the press ignores.
Does anyone know what that document is?
It seems to me that it could be one of hundreds–the press has not reported on anything that I know of except for the two memos the committees issued, and the FISA warrant. But maybe there is one in particular, @julespa.
Yep.
There are times I think the arrest and imprisonment of Soros (Where’s a gulag when you need one?) and confiscation of his wealth would make the world a better place . . .
He probably owns all the law enforcement and prisons, too. Nice thought, though.
Here’s a man who relishes knowing he intentionally broke the bank of England, yet so-called “international law” can’t touch him. The heck with international law. No such thing, IMHO.
If one wealthy individual like Soros can wreak such havoc on a single country, imagine what a group of like-minded, billionaire individuals could do to the world. (Nothing against wealth here, but it’s what you do with it.)
At this point, I would normally rag on the DNC and their elected officials. However, given the actions (or lack thereof) from our Republicans in Congress, I’m not so sure.
Oh yes, they passed the tax bill. Three cheers and a round of applause. However, the law is not permanent, and they still didn’t repeal a lot of the other offensive Obamacare mandates. Heck, they couldn’t even vote for total repeal after they did so before Trump entered office. Hypocrisy exposed.
It’s almost as if they grew a pair, then cut one off . . .
I don’t know of any polls. but The Nation has also been hitting this pretty hard lately. The Bernie contingent of the Left, who had been growing disenchanted with Obama and hated Hillary, had these gates opened to them with the corruption in the Democratic Party, and it’s not a long walk from there to the DOJ involved in yet another fix on her behalf.
I also wonder if Trump’s numbers are going up because people not only like some of the things he’s doing, but they’re starting to see some of the information that the media is trying to hide. Any thoughts?
That is why this MSM(ie: (D)’s) week/weekend is devoted to the incredible crisis of the past alleged spousal abuse (seems real to me) committed by, until this past week, unknown Trump White House staffers. Then it morphed into how Trump said the wrong thing(probably did), now it has become the White House in disarray because Chief of Staff John Kelly’s job is in jeopardy(hope not).
And there you have it, an Emmy worthy MSM production of a Trump related mini scandal which magically ties into the issue de jour #MeToo …..
The MSM goal = SQUIRREL!
Don’t you dare pay attention to that DOJ/FBI scandal /actual Constitutional crisis(ie: illegally spying on US citizens)
@edisonparks, Trump had better ignore the attacks on John Kelly. I don’t care what Kelly did when. The man has got to stay–he’s key to this administration. That’s probably why they’re trying to get rid of him. Love your points–squirrel!!!!
@julespa : I think this is it:
https://www.scribd.com/document/369858325/xxx
Torturous reading. Begin at p. 68. The earlier pages outline the rules.
After 68, the breaking of rules begins to be addressed. I read enough to believe that information was shared with those who should not have access.
And that people are willing to pretend incompetence in order to keep information, or get information they should not have.
The Ben Franklin maxim about giving up X in order to keep Y appears to be true.
I do not find this exciting, I find these revelations appalling.
I feel the same, excited: but for a resolution to the corruption, rather than excited as in entertainment.
I would bet that Susan would share the corruption-ending excitement.
I find the MSM’s indifference and misdirection equally or even more appalling than the Obama DOJ/FBI corruption.
Instead of threatening to impeach the President for misdeeds which may or may not exist, the Press should be impeached. I think their high crimes and misdemeanors are becoming more obvious.
Yes! Or they are reveled as outer party. In short, we now see that much of conservatism Inc. is really wanna be ruling class.
