Your friend Jim George thinks you'd be a great addition to Ricochet, so we'd like to offer you a special deal: You can become a member for no initial charge for one month!
Ricochet is a community of like-minded people who enjoy writing about and discussing politics (usually of the center-right nature), culture, sports, history, and just about every other topic under the sun in a fully moderated environment. We’re so sure you’ll like Ricochet, we’ll let you join and get your first month for free. Kick the tires: read the always eclectic member feed, write some posts, join discussions, participate in a live chat or two, and listen to a few of our over 50 (free) podcasts on every conceivable topic, hosted by some of the biggest names on the right, for 30 days on us. We’re confident you’re gonna love it.
And why, pray tell, did you not let us know you were coming? Sorry we missed you!
Soul food. What a wonderful break.
It was a suuuuuper short visit this time! Terry and I will be coming up that way again as soon as he’s got some real time off work. I saved back some vacation time! :)
What a great trip. :)
For an author, it’s the imaginary friends (i.e. fictional characters) that make life interesting.
“Would you guys just behave and do what you’re supposed to do to get this book done? You there! Tom! This section won’t finish until you get in the door. Quit fooling around outside and come have your conversation with Cornelius. Don’t make me write in a meteor to take you out so your brother Jesse can get the job done.”
This conversation is an entry in our Quote of the Day Series. We still have four openings on our schedule for December on the 23rd, Christmas Day, 29th, and 30th. If you have a quotation that might start a good conversation or a conversation percolating that you’d like to start or end with a quotation, why not sign up right now?
Lovely. It’s the reason family and friends are so precious.
If it’s during a time when the passes don’t scare me I might even make it over the mountains.
The next time, we’re going to get @vicrylcontessa and @1967mustangman involved. This trip was short notice and I cut it short. Next trip will be at least a week.
Also the roads back were definitely getting a bit… sporty.
After a lifetime of work, I was starting to feel burned out too – which is why I retired. One thing my wife and I plan on doing next year is visiting out-of-town friends more, especially the ones we’ve met on Ricochet. We’re looking forward to visiting Maine, and (hopefully) Michigan, Minnesota, Texas, Tennessee – maybe even the left coast.
Gonna have to buy a new car first, because the minivan is larger than the two of us need.
You’ve already mentioned exactly what you’d like, if only you could talk your wife into it.
I totally endorse this plan and think you should drive it when you come for your Minnesota visit.
You should check out Big Sky Country while you’re at it. It’s gorgeous up here! :)
Really wanted to the Glacier Park Meetup, but that was my last month at work.
We’ll probably go with a Camry Hybrid. Just have to check the sofa cushions first . . .
@juliesnapp, It was nice to have you as well! :) I know the feeling of being burned out at work… For me, it usually culminates in some sort of event, and I’ve got one coming up tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully, it will make the Christmas break all that more enjoyable.
(And the boys loved playing with you!)
Those boys are so sweet! :)
Looking forward to seeing y’all again! (Also, Terry is headed home and we’re not due to leave out again until Friday, so you could easily get him to do a podcast!)
