Recommended by Ricochet Members Created with Sketch. Quote of the Day – The Last Minute

“If it weren’t for the last minute, nothing would get done.” – Rita Mae Brown

For the past couple of months, I’ve either been working 10-12 hours every day, or I’ve been on vacation, or I’ve been working while on vacation. We just had a big software rollout, and I decided that I was going to come home, heat up some leftover pot roast, and spend the evening lounging about on the couch watching Longmire and snuggling the cat.

As I was getting ready to head upstairs for the night, I decided to check my Ricochet notifications and remembered that I had put off writing this post all day. So as I started to head upstairs to write it, I remembered that the hubs had asked me to check for packages every night as he’s been Christmas shopping online. I poked my head out to check and remembered that I still need to shovel snow on the front walk so our HOA doesn’t get testy. Now that I’m sitting here remembering that stuff, I’m also remembering about 20 other things I actually needed to do this evening, and now I must rush around getting everything done before I can go to bed.

I guess it’s a Monday after all, but now that it’s the last hour before I need to start getting ready for bed, I still have to: shovel the sidewalk, check the mail, clean out my crock pot so I can slow cook a chicken tomorrow, get the cat’s claws trimmed so he’ll stop attempting to shred my arm, finish the laundry, clean the bathroom, finish the dishes, pick up the living room, take a shower, pack my lunch, and finish unpacking my bag from my trip because I need to charge my FitBit.

One of these days I’ll get it together, but for now thank goodness for the last minute because I’m about to get some stuff done.

I replaced the batteries in my flashlight today. I’m spent.

It will get done at the last minute, but I doubt you will be in bed in an hour.

Especially if you discover PIT 14-A.

You need some sleep. Thank you for writing this up before you conked out for the night.

I’ve never seen Longmont but Longmire is pretty good. We have dubbed both Outlander and Longmire new versions of “The Perils of Pauline”.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

    Personal favorite of mine.

This has certainly been my case in the last week or so. There is updating the church Website, putting out the November Quote of the Day Round Up, Putting out the November Group Writing Round-Up, writing at least two posts that are late, etc. It’s Tuesday, and I haven’t even read the Sunday comics.

This is, or well, was the Quote of the Day conversation. We still have seven openings on the schedule for December. I apparently did a great guilt trip to get people to sign up for it yesterday. That was after a Back End Fetch Fail ate my more normal appeal. Group Writing, on the other hand, needs more love. We have nineteen openings in the schedule, including yesterday’s for you time travelers, and all on the theme of Holiday Traditions and Treats.

Oops. Longmire, of course. I must be dreaming of Colorado again . . . .

I have enjoyed past seasons of Longmire, and I will be watching the new season as soon as I’m done with Punisher. If you’re going to watch it, though, start from the beginning. I’m pretty sure that if you jump into the middle of it, it will make no sense at all.

We just watched the first episode of Punisher last night. My husband wasn’t thrilled, but I told him I think now that they have filled us in on his background, it may move a little quicker. It was pretty good, but I was a little surprised at how violent. Not that he was violent, but that they showed it so graphically and didn’t cut away. That may end up turning me off, but we will see.

    (We also like Longmire.)

I’ve just really been in a western mood lately. I watched a couple episodes of Longmire with my dad while I was visiting family over Thanksgiving and I loved it! After this, I’m going to try that Godless show. It looked interesting as well. I semi-watched the first episode with family while I was working on my laptop.
