Oh, yeah … sure. Shoutouts to all them guys.
We’re working on the link, folks.
Problem playing track.
There’s something wrong with the link. It lists the information correctly, but there is a message that “there was a problem playing this track.” I can’t download it either.
I think its fixed
Just incentive to be more interesting. ;-)
Time for another holy war. Bama vs Auburn?
Thoughts about a carry firearm…test drive it before you buy it. Yes a 380 can be quite “snappish” in a lightweight gun as weight helps tame recoil – that is one of the reasons a 1911 in 45 ACP doesn’t seem as sharp as your 380 – it weighs in at 40+ ounces where as your 380 is under 20 (some like the Ruger LCP are about 14-15 oz and can be handful for some people). Carry what you are comfy with and carry where you can. Also consider laser sights – great for dry fire if nothing else. Be responsible and safe! LOVE the podcast!!!
OK, well, the embed problem is definitely something with the episode itself, since as you can see embedding Flyover Country (also Soundcloud) works. Also, if I recall Dixie Dolls #1 embedded fine as well. I would look in your Soundcloud account and see if you can find any difference between episode #1 and #2.
Here’s the post I referenced about women’s concealed carry.

But countering “Nurses and Math” is that musicians and math often go together, so since The Contessa has a musical background, that might counter any nurse aversion to math.
So what happened to “Flyover Country”? Did Ryan and Terry lose that lovin’ feelin’?
I am in the process of reading the post – and agree with all you have said. my comment wasn’t meant to be anything other than remarking on the physics to backup the idea of test driving before purchase – different people handle different firearms in different ways. I used to carry a Para P12 but got tired of it continually pulling my pants down (or at least feeling like it was) so switched over to something smaller which also had the side effect of me carrying it MUCH more often…who knew? :)
keep up the good work!!! and congratulations!
Now that I’m listening, this is nearly prescient now that @1967mustangman has become Lambdrew.
I would love to carry a larger gun, but the size and weight of it are prohibitive. I hate having to carry that stupid .380. But I will reliably carry it, so it’s better than not carrying at all. I totally agree with you about testing guns out. I’ve found that if you get in good with the guys at a range, they’ll let you try some out on the house.
Btw, I absolutely LOVE that picture of the little lamb. So stinking cute.
This is the best podcast on Ricochet.
Awwww!
Awesome job, Dolls, you two really are a perfect team. And @arahant and @garymcvey are also on my short list of members who I want to meet in person.
There’s a carpet rep who used to call on us who carried a .380. He mentioned that other guys made fun of him for carrying a little gun when these other guys had .45s and 9mms. But when he asked them what they carry, they all answered nothing because they didn’t want to lug a heavy gun around all day every day. He echoed what VC said, that a little gun in your holster is more effective than a big gun back at your house.
Uh, that’s a goat, a pygmy I believe. If you’re going to be a farmer, you need to learn the difference.

BTW, it’s sweet you would like to meet me, but that would almost certainly involve me going outside. And I think we all know how I feel about that.
Terry’s been out of pocket lately, unfortunately. He’s been working lead hand on long wells with zero reception, even with a cell booster. Because he’s leading, it’s harder for him to take off during the day. He drove down to Arkansas with me last week, but I had to take him back to the airport on Sunday.
Maybe we could get you on audio saying Rob’s line “#1 podcast on Ricochet…” and include that in our intro. ;p
One of these days, I’m gonna knock on your door with a 6-pack and a boatload of tales!
All I know is that it’s stupid cute, and I want one. But no, you are right- it’s a goat. I may say “GOATS! I fricking love goats” every time I pass a herd while driving in the country.
Indeed. I’ll carry a 45 in the winter sometimes ( because it’s freaking awesome to carry an elephant ivory handled primo 1911 cocked and locked ) but far far more often I have a 32 or .380.
Nice work DD’s.
I know how that goes. My best friend has a job situation sort of like that: long hours demanding full attention, not much chance to stay in touch with loved ones, much less do something that’s not said job. Tell him we miss him. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. :)
