Contributor Post Created with Sketch. Recommended by Ricochet Members Created with Sketch. Somedays, There Is Just Not Enough Popcorn in the World

Popcorn, anyone?Donna Brazile is obviously trying to position herself as The Only Honest Wo(man) In Washington with this tell-all article in Politico which reveals just how unethical, immoral and quite possibly illegal the 2016 Clinton campaign really was.

“Officials from Hillary’s campaign had taken a look at the DNC’s books. Obama left the party $24 million in debt—$15 million in bank debt and more than $8 million owed to vendors after the 2012 campaign and had been paying that off very slowly. Obama’s campaign was not scheduled to pay it off until 2016. Hillary for America (the campaign) and the Hillary Victory Fund (its joint fundraising vehicle with the DNC) had taken care of 80 percent of the remaining debt in 2016, about $10 million, and had placed the party on an allowance.”

However, Donna’s chances of becoming the straight-talking, trustworthy soul who tells it like it is are somewhat hampered by the fact that she leaked town hall questions to Hillary when she was a “journalist” for ABC News.

Kinda hard to point your fingers at the unethical behavior of someone when you yourself were willing to cross ethical boundaries for that very same person, Donna.

In the meantime, pull up a chair, sprinkle on your favorite popcorn toppings, and let’s all bask in the warmth of the Democratic Party lighting itself on fire.

And yet, she urged Bernie to get his supporters to rally behind Clinton, even though she had documented proof that Clinton was a crook.

Democrats will always side with a crook over a Republican.

It’s an interesting article, but very self-serving.

What’s also interesting is she throws Debbie Wassername under the bus, and to some extent, Obama.

Does it mean that the media will now focus a little on the Clintons’ activities?

(I was also surprised to hear an hour-long discussion yesterday, on NPR’s On Point, about problems in the Democrat party.)

You really think Hillary’s ability to extend her tentacles into the executive crevices of the Democratic machine stopped at the DNC? Ha!

How much is Hillary money also helping to keep the lights on at non-viable media companies?

She knows nothing she says can actually hurt Mr. Moneybags at this point, so why not? He probably gave her permission to use his name.

Resolved: Barack Hussein Obama should be dunned for the debt he left for the party after leaving office. He should be followed around by a debt-collector wherever he goes, and should be reminded often about how much he cost his party.

    Discuss.

I don’t know. A Democrat party in deep debt is a party that’s much less powerful and effective. I’d say he did the GOP a big favor.

I also think he knows that, and the fact that Trump followed him into the White House will haunt him forever.

    Yeah, right.

What do you suppose the balance on the DNC’s bank account looks like today, in 2017?

I bet it’s looking pretty good.

The assumption that Barack Obama gives a flying fig what happens to people other than himself is a YUUUUUUGE assumption.

There’s a reason he always kept his organization completely isolated from the DNC. It was always the O Party for him, not the Democratic Party.

I’ll take that bet, and with one of their most-regular sources of income, Hollywood, in full meltdown mode, I doubt that things have improved since August.

Isn’t it racist to blame the $24 million DNC debt on Obama? I’m disappointed in Donna.

There is something satisfying about this. I don’t think it’s (just) schadenfreude. Maybe it is that what seemed really screwed up and wrong to me/us eventually was revealed to be—ta-dah!—screwed up and wrong!

Thanks for highlighting this article, which I think is an excerpt from her tell all book. I actually just clicked onto the member feed to see if anyone had started a thread, as it seems to be a major salvo in the war to keep HRC from trying for another run.

I don’t think it matters Donna Brazile fed Hillary debate questions in the past, or that Obama left the DNC in debt.

This is all about the effort to wrest control of the party back from Clinton, Inc. I am guessing they were hoping she would go quietly, but now have to get more aggressive.

The latest numbers from the FEC:

The RNC has no debt and has $44M cash-on-hand.

The DNC has a debt of $3.8M and $7M cash-on-hand.

Agreed. Thinking that the renewed interest in the Uranium One Deal-Clinton Foundation is part of that too.

Goodness no. He’s gone and he left us a bankrupt Democratic party. We should send him flowers and a thank you note.

$3.2M net positive, certainly a bigger bank account than me (assuming that’s actually MM).

But, but, she was letting her guard down when she wrote “What’s Happening.” * She told us she was letting it down, and yet somehow, NONE of this in that book.

    * The title of Hillary’s book is “What Happened,” not “What’s Happening,” which was a sitcom from the 70’s that featured a different Rerun than Hillary.
    I regret the error.

I’m shocked to find out that a political party allowed itself to be suborned and used by politicians. Shocked, I tell you. Shocked.

    /yawn/

Of course the timing of all this allows it to be conveniently forgotten and swept under the rug by the time the 2020 campaign is in full swing. That said, if the Bernie Bros react to this news in the way I expect they will, there’s the potential for great amusement and popcorn consumption while it lasts.

It is also interesting that Donna hints that she knew the Hilary Campaign was in trouble and that there was little enthusiasm for “I’m with Her”.

Kinda puts a damper on the whole “Trump stole the election” meme doesn’t it?

So let me get this straight (hold on while I put my giant tub of popcorn aside):

    1. Hillary took notes from Putin on how to control the party, the money, and get dishonestly elected – ok – got it.
    2. Obama left the DNC in a heap of debt, pretty much like the country – got it.
    3. Clintons shifted money around, sabotaged Bernie Sander’s campaign, lied, and there’s no consequences while accusing the Russians of meddling in the presidential campaign? – ok – got it.
    4. Ms. Donna is trying to sell a book so she is now willing to sing like a canary, even participating in the shenanigans by funneling the questions to Hillary, and withholding all the filth and dirt, but now can make some cash on a book (and a darn good book I am suspecting?) – ok – got it.
    5. It confirms what we all knew – Democrats can’t manage money, they’ll devour each other to hold on to power, they prance around and give expensive speeches but have little else to offer their party or the country? ok – got it. GO Donna!!

As self-serving as this is on Brazille’s part, I’m thinking she’s being somewhat truthful. Do you guys remember when Hillary first started crawling out from under her post-election loss rock? She was talking about the DNC finances being a shambles. It was part of her first tranche of excuses. She acted like someone that purchased a distressed business.

on a somewhat related note-was reading at Ace of Spades about the MSM omitting that FusionGPS principle worked at WSJ and how it was alleged that they paid “journalists” to push stories? I’m guessing that payoffs to them would be on those banking records as well as all the other bottom feeders in that town.

Feels like something is going to finally break open.

Heck, I think she’s trying right now to muscle her way into the nomination. That would explain the negative stories coming out about her.

I know that Rush used to say Dems put out the negative stories early so they become “old news”. This feels different to me, like they are putting out negative stories so that can knock her back into the wilderness. We’ll see soon enough, I suppose.
