This is an entry in our Group Writing Series for the month of October, in which the topic is Cards. If you have a story or memory involving any sort of cards, you might consider signing up for one of the last slots in this month’s series.
Your story is lovely and touching…and left me wanting to know more about your characters.
In theory, that is the goal of any fiction writer. Of course, you have to bring the story to market before you can cross that wicket . . .

OK! Good. But it didn’t feel like fiction. It felt like it was you as a little girl you were talking about and your Wacko-man cards were only to avoid legal action from that Japan company that created Pikajue. It did what good fiction should do in that it made me believe in the character. Those short stories would make for a beautiful book written for the young-teen market. Don’t give up on fiction.
