Ricochetti Adventures in Vegas and LA
I previously posted about our hot weekend (113°F) in Vegas at FreedomFest 2017 whilst interviewing a treasure trove of luminaries, but I left off details and photos of our two meet ups from the weekend. The first, on Friday night was hosted by @addictionisachoice:
@cowgirl and Addiction Is a Choice are in the rear of the photo, with virtuoso pianist Hyperion Knight to the right of him, then me, @nicegrizzly, and @Whiskeypolitics Dave. On the other side of the table, @docjay is seated next to Cowgirl, and next to him we have three guests who will be joining Ricochet soon: Garin Bader, fantastic magician and pianist who performs regularly and is a friend of Hyperion’s, and Nancy and her daughter, Sarah.
After an exhausting weekend working for Whiskey Politics, Dave Sussman and I made it to the Reagan Library event previously described on Ricochet*, and joined a great group of Ricochetti at the after-party and then on to a more boisterous party at the Stonehause nearby. It was a nice finish to a very busy few days:
@annefy charms the socks off @patsajak.
From L to R: @jimgonewild, Pat Sajak, Gabriel, Annefy, @vectorman, @davesussman
Me and the boys
All of us at the “Wall”
We begin to gather…
I have often said that Ricochet is more of a social club than an editorial site and several members, including young Eduardo sitting near the foreground, stated that now that now they had met other members, they were no longer intimidated by the prospect of submitting essays and comments. My entire point of maintaining (with the generous editorial work of the tireless @RandyWeivoda), RicochetMeetUp.com is to provide an easier way for members to track the numerous attempts to connect with each other. Go to a meetup and you will instantly connect.

Isn’t it “Addiction is a Choice?”
Very cool.
lol, when I said I was exhausted, I meant it!
But maybe your moniker is correct. . .well the one before you corrected it. . .Get some sleep and fix it in the morning.
Thanks for the up close and personal touch for both of these, Melissa! Wonderful to see everyone!
Hey, Melissa, thank you for the update! I have gathered with Ricochetti in Atlanta and DC and can say it’s always worth it.
What did I miss?
I blame everything on auto-correct!
It’s Wednesday and I’m just coming up for air. That was a crazy week topped off by an amazing Sunday. Thanks for the great pics Melissa and all your incredible support.
Thank you for these great pictures Melissa. I love our Ricochet community and am sorry not to have been there.
We hung out briefly at the Reagan Library reception but had a long drive home that night so left around 6. Looks like staying would have been fun.
I wish I could have hit a Like button for each one of those pictures.
Ricochet folks are the best! If @nicegrizzly had been there, the photos would have been really great. She did such a nice job at FreedomFest, and you should see her portraits.
Thanks for the photos and the explanations!
Thanks for the photos. Salt of the earth people!
Wow, those are outstanding!
Thanks so much, Melissa! I had a blast at Freedom Fest and am grateful for the opportunity to be there.
@randyweivoda, you’re too kind!
In case I haven’t mentioned it before, I really appreciate that you do so!
Outstanding is right! Wow! And after meeting her I can attest: She puts the “nice” in @nicegrizzly ;)
Very kind of you as well, @addictionisachoice, and so nice to meet you Friday night.
Absolutely true! Ricochetti are a colorful and diverse group of people, but they all have one thing in common-they’re fun to hang out with! My wife and I want to attend more, but work keeps getting in the way . . .
Oh, you added pix after the original post!! Very cool! Love seeing the faces of some of the people I’ve “talked with.” Thanks, Melissa!
Awesome! I want to thank you and Dave again for being great hosts.
The Team. I actually love the photo bombers.
It was great seeing you again Jim!
That right there is why the left hates us. We are too happy, having too much fun, and are way too good looking. The fact that you pulled all that off despite my absence is even more remarkable.
